Synaptics reveals details about its new phone concept
Synaptics joined forces with several companies (Texas Instruments, Immersion, TheAlloy and The Astonishing Tribe) in creating conceptual touch-screen phone, called Fuse. In order to improve the “human-device” interaction Fuse combines several interface technologies, including haptic feedback, multi touch, 3D graphics, proximity and grip sensors.

The idea is to extend the touch interaction with the device beyond any known level, by adding capacitive sensors to the sides of the phone and a touch panel on the back, providing 2D navigation.

Synaptics will officially present the phone during CES 2010 in Las Vegas, and at the Mobile World Congress 2010 in Barcelona.
