Specs and pricing of the new HTC One (M8) listed by Candian carrier Rogers
The excitement about the new HTC One (M8) extends to Canada, where recently we saw a leaked press image of the device wearing Telus colors. Now, Canadian carrier Rogers has revealed the specs and the pricing of the phone. With HTC less than 12 hours away from unveiling its new flagship model, the leaks are coming at a fast and furious pace.

The new HTC One (M8) will carry a 5 inch panel with resolution of 1080 x 1920. A quad-core 2.3GHz Snapdragon 801 is under the hood. 2GB of RAM is on board along with 32GB of native storage and there is a much appreciated microSD slot offered. The Duo cameras on back include one Ultrapixel snapper and there is a 5MP camera in front. Dimensions of the phone are 46.3 x 70.6 x 9.35mm and it weighs in at 160g.

Rogers is pricing the phone at $229.99 with a signed two-year pact, and $649.99 on a month-to-month basis. The carrier says that the phone is so intuitive that it makes "access to your phone faster and easier," and also includes "Enhanced Gesture Recognition."

All of the excitement kicks off tomorrow at 11am EDT when HTC unveils the new HTC One (M8).

But when you're holding it, it will have a nice weight. Just like the Blackberry Z30, it is 5 inches and 170g, I hold it before and I must say it has a nice weight.

You can see a full review on youtube by TechSmartt. They confirm a 4ultrapixel camera and the second will just refocus. They do say that the new 4ultrapixel is way better than the old one. They take pictures with the old one and the new one, and they look really good. Im buying this phone

True it does sound like that but you have to admit it looks good. Did you see the pictures? I like this phone. It is an noticeable upgrade from the old one. I just hope the G3 is a beast so i can replace my G2 as well.

It became insane when the rest of the field came in at much lighter and much more compact. You know, how people like most things especially things that have mobile in its description.

There's a typo in this article
Its 146.3 x 70.6 x 9.35mm not 46.3 x 70.6 x 9.35mm, 46.3 mm is obviously impossible to a 5" screen

Hmm... seems that Z2 has won the spec battle, despite looking initially like a minor facelft of the Z1. Let's wait for first reviews.
However 4Mpx camera on a flagship seems like suicide.

Would be a super deal if HTC announces the watch at the same time and release it through a bundle deal.

Yeah apparently it is 4ultra on back, but they improved it so hard that it smacks all those megapixel cameras in the face with it's huge peepee. Thing is even though my G2 has one of the best cameras it doesn't blow my mind. Doesn't seem to matter how many megapixels you have, it all depends on how the camera is made period. This one is looking like it could compare with the z2's camera for sure. Just watched the review, who knows i bet that 2600 is more than enough and i'm sure they didn't go 3000 for obvious reasons. Should be a great phone, not sure i like how sense 6 went from black to white..... i kinda liked sense the most because of it's nice black theme

Let's see. That's what we heard last year too, that it may have only 4Mpx camera, but the Ultrapixel technology would revolutionize smartphone photography, but in reality the lack of detail killed its chances.
I'm sure they must have improved some aspects, but again lack of detail must be a given, considering that max. resolution stays the same.

It has a feature like the "knock on" from lg. Screen off. Tap twice to wake it up. Also has quick actions to camera as well as your most recent app by sliding your finger upward(or downward? Can't specificly remember from the webinar) when screen is off. This phone is awesome. But playing with one yesterday. I am highly dissapointed yet again with the camera. Come on HTC. You "mid range" phone has a better snapper than your flagship.

The unlteapixel and a normal 4 mp shooter as on a basic phone have nondofference what so ever.. Just a little bit bigger light sensor and different lenses.

I just hope the camera is decent comparable to other flagships. If not it's going to be a very long road for HTC...
