Sony takes care of its customers, releases ICS updates for Xperia U, sola and go
Today is a very happy day for users of the Sony Xperia U, Xperia sola and Xperia go smartphones! The company has announced that a software update to Android 4.0.4 ICS is now being rolled out across the world.

But... there is one "but" (actually two). Sony will be rolling out the update gradually during the following few weeks, meaning that it might be another few weeks until you finally receive it, depending on where you are, which sucks, we know. Plus, you'll have to manually check if the update has been made available to you using the PC Companion or Sony Mobile Update Service programs for Windows or Mac. So, no over-the-air love for you, fellas. Which makes sense, actually, because love is meant to be physical, right?!

OK, this might not have been much of a consolation for you guys, but at least you know what you're looking forward to, and it's downright awesome! When you (finally) receive that ICS update, you'll be enjoying a much faster system response, vastly improved core apps, better app support and a number of additional features such as resizable widgets, Sony's new media apps - "Walkman", "Album" and "Movies", and Xperia sola users will even get a brand new "glove mode", allowing them to use the touchscreen while wearing gloves!

We have our fingers crossed that you'll be getting your updates soon!

I was using Xperia Neo earlier.. Bought it from Carphone Warehouse.. Factory Unlocked.. Never got official update for it for ICS.. Came to know that 02 has blocked update for Xperia Neo and Arc in UK coz of "stability" issues.

So I bought a factory unlocked phone and still couldn't update.. Wtf!!
