Samsung Galaxy S III with Android 4.2.1 demonstration video surfaces
Share:
All of them are expected to soon get bumped up to 4.2.1 Jelly Bean with its lockscreen widgets and nice little tweaks to the user interface. And unofficially, Android 4.2 has already been released in the form of a leaked ROM. A user Damian Kidd took the 4.2 ROM and flashed it on its Galaxy S III device, bringing us the first look at how Android 4.2 will run on Samsung’s devices.
You can see it in a five-minute video the user recorded showing all the new things coming in Android 4.2 (and of course the way lockscreen widgets are implemented). Take a look below.

Can't wait to have it on my Note II.
That will be great to have widgets on lock screen ;)

Knowing Samsung, they may be tempted to wait the launch of the Galaxy S4 before seeding this update.
Please Samsung, we (note II users) are waiting for this update so don't take too long before seeding.

Good luck Samsung left the OG Note on ICS til just a week ago it got JB and that was only for international version carrier versions will probly never get it. I think you can expect the same update experience on the Note II as well and I hope you have International version.

You should be grateful you are getting updates, you think its just easy to write software just like that let alone a complete rom, even galaxy s2 got 4.1.2.
By the way he forgot to show Daydream, its really cool when you are docking or charging the phone

I was genuinely surprised when the S2 got 4.1
That's more than I can say for my HTC Sensation which was released around the same time...Go Samsung.

There's no photo sphere....atleast in the leaked ROM from which the video was made :(
Bt reports suggested that samsung is developing something called orb which is an advanced version of photo sphere...according to some roumours even the galaxy s4 will get it after release via an update....so hopefully s3 will get it too...hopefully..

I hope it comes to my Galaxy SII after the Android 4.1 update, or else I might just have to flash a ROM.

Idiot!, go and sort out your one screen bunch of huge icons on IOS before coming to comment on advanced OS'es here

Is one surprised by your IOS love, fyi the IPhone does have the odd hiccup and lag if too many programmes are open, specifically between web browsers/heavy handed gaming. Not the smooth experience it's cracked up to be, I pretty much use everything from BB-IOS and every OS has it's faults. In fact, ironically I don't experience such hiccups on my S3 mini, it's a zippy little thing despite being only dual core.

whatever you may say, touchwiz is the most feature rich OS out there, practical and makes people life just a little bit more easier, I wonder where you seen those lags, every OS has a bit of hiccup when you boot or start at first so just STFU and swallow your jealousy

It's not official final ROM, whatever your using won't be as effective or as intuitive as what Samsung use, rest assured

I'm sure he got the rom from the XDA developers site.
Here is where you can get the rom (and how to flash it on your SIII):

don't be dumb.. first off I'm no "kid" as you put it. I vote with my $ and I would never give SS the time of day as they make cheap products regardless of whats inside. Second I see you in everything WP related spewing your moronic comments so I'm pretty sure I can comment whereever I chose.. typical butthurt comment makes you sound like a pullstring toy that has the intelligents of said product.. come up with something new next time will ya?
31. maccess posted on 24 Feb 2013, 14:33 2

Right, and being cheap has what to do with a software update exactly? Sir, you are entitled to your opinion but when you provoke a flame war which has nothing in relation to what's being written in an article it's called trolling. Hey, I don't like VW for their flimsy build quality either despite being the parent company of Audi/Lambo/Bentley/Bugatti, I prefer what what their rivals make in Munich and Stuttgart but I don't go trolling the VW boards in German Car Forum because a particular component such as the door handle or lines of the car looks naff in comparison to the competition in my humble opinion and just because i said so doesn't make it anymore right, it's down to the numbers that truly count. It's how it performs that's also key with support, being 'cheap' and 'plastic' hasn't put people off from making the S3 the top selling android phone, I would imagine that most of these folks aren't that thick skinned and value the service which no other OEM from the android camp (Bar Google) can provide. Like I said, I ain't having a go at you for distaste for Samsung, you are entitled to say what you want as long as you aren't here to flame others.

Apple sells well too but that doesn't mean I'm going to buy it because others do. I'm an individual not a leming

I used to be like you. Then I gave into the hype and got the S3 while it was free with a contract renewal. Best phone I've ever used, better than my One S (still stuck on ICS, damn it), better than my iPhone 4, better than my brother's Razr HD, and just as responsive and fluid as my girlfriend's HTC Titan. And there are so many accessories for it it's crazy. I have an aluminum bumper and a carbon fiber battery door on mine, it certainly does not look cheap and flimsy like when I got it.
