Nokia swings another infographic at iPhone
Nokia UK placed a straightforward comparison between its upcoming Lumia 920 and the iPhone 5 on their Facebook page. It does not reveal anything we do not already know, but it does highlight the distinct differences we have all been talking about.
From screen size, to user experience and camera to color choices, Nokia makes its case against the Apple benchmark. What is odd however, is in the lower right corner, Nokia shows five colors to select from, black, white, grey, red and yellow, but the graphic itself also shows purple and the elusive cyan rendering which has been subject to much speculation.
the impressive Nokia Purity Pro by Monster wireless headsets as part of their comparison to the iPhone 5’s included EarPods. First, given that the Purity Pro headsets cost about $375 by themselves, and we can safely assume that they will not be included with the Lumia 920 (or any Nokia phone for that matter), it does not approach an even comparison there. Second, love it or hate it, there is pretty much an iPhone accessory for just about everything, from socks to toilet paper docks. We do not envision Nokia being able to penetrate the accessory market quite so…completely.
Those two items aside, the comparison is pretty even handed. Nokia UK tagged their graphic with the caption, “Good things come to those that wait.” We agree, but we are still waiting for an official release date, then we can wait for the Lumia itself.

I would love Nokia to succeed but this infographic is misleading...
"Accesory: earbus"? really? As much as I love my galaxy S3 and android... I wish we had as many accesories the iPhones get...
"higher res screen" that one is true, but ppi is not. It does not make any noticeable difference.
This graph makes Nokia sound desperate
22. captainqtp (Posts: 16; Member since: 25 Jun 2010)
Nokia in fact does have a higher PPI. Also it is 600 nits vs 500 for the iphone. Nits measure brightness.
The only metrics the iphone 5 screens win on, is that it is thinner and it may possibly display colors more accurately.

Nokia put their foot into this phone, i got to confess its better than the iphone 5...im def still getting the iphone 5 but this phone is awesome, and also the htc note 2 i believe its called...i really hope apple takes a 2,3 year hiatus and do some soul searching to come out with something even better...competition is always good
37. Non_Sequitur (Posts: 1111; Member since: 16 Mar 2012)
Yeah, the iPhone is really good and I do like it, but I would only get one if I really liked Macs and was in the whole Apple ecosystem thing.
Have fun with it though, it'll be cool! :)
46. metalpoet (unregistered)
dude you just put your foot in your mouth! You say the Nokia Lumia is better than the iPhone 5 yet your still going to get an iPhone! And the fact that you thought HTC made the Note 2 truly scraes me haha! Congratulations Apple youve brainwashed people like "triPled" to get the iPhone even though they clearly stated that another phone was better!
48. triPleD (Posts: 13; Member since: 13 Sep 2012)
nope, i did not, i prefer apple products to any other brand, key word of course being "prefer"...lol i even prefer my iphone 4s to the lumia 920...i do not know why anyone would be concerned with me thinking that htc made the note 2, dont really pay attention to any other phone brand other than iphones, so i dont really know nor really care what is out there, however regardless of who made it the phone is awesome... if i see a phone that i think is better than the iphone 5, i would def say so, and still stick to my iphone because i "prefer" apple products..."prefer" preference, hopefully a dictionary definition is not necessary...hmm i guess i am brainwashed lol, one of those rare human beings that love a brand over others regardless of specs or features

You can always tell who the internet troll is. The one that always sounds like an ass.
17. Hammerfest (Posts: 346; Member since: 12 May 2012)
they really dont have to...
Im not a Windows Phone fan AT ALL, but with a gun to my head I would chose the Nokia device any day, any time, any place...
18. arsenaljimenez (Posts: 137; Member since: 03 May 2012)
They need to unbrainwash those apple fans
54. badini007 (Posts: 18; Member since: 02 Jul 2012)
You mean reprogram them. It impossible except few, I used to love Nokia and never thought of switching to any other brand but after a very bad experience with N97 mini (firmware updated twice) which was hanging 3-5 times in a day after three months I bought SGS1 and currently I am using SGS2. If I had to express my experience in a word that would be "FREEEEEEDOM".

they need to stay in business before they start being arrogant. They're the cockiest company and they continue to lose ground. I would root for them if they didn't come off as assholes
32. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
i agree and disagree...the jellybean pic was nokia jumping the gun and just looking stupid....but these ad/ pics show perfectly how far better there product is to the iphone ( proclaimed best smartphone by many reviewers)
and as for arrogance, the most arrogant company has to be apple...no other company comes close
59. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
When you are the market leader, people will continue to take potshots at you. Some more desperately than others.
75. arsenaljimenez (Posts: 137; Member since: 03 May 2012)
So are you saying that these comparisons aren't true?
3. Savage (Posts: 431; Member since: 28 Jul 2012)
Looks like every OEM is taking full opportunity having a go at iPhone 5's failure. It'll take a lot more than that to make deluded fans see sense.
13. rusticguy (Posts: 2810; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
fans don;t have commonsense. They go (lady) gaga over nonsense :)
52. PhansMuneeb (Posts: 337; Member since: 28 Jan 2012)
The only thing that i love in IOs is the Games or else who will buy 200$? piece of s**t for 600-700$?
61. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
Apple haters are even more deluded. It's just really sad.Apple haters are even more deluded. It's just really sad.
4. SuperAndroidEvo (Posts: 3427; Member since: 15 Apr 2011)
Yeah even the Nokia with the Lumia 920 makes a more compelling phone than Apple these days. I have to say the Nokia Lumia is a very sexy phone. Looks & is so much better than the busted looking iPhone 5.
To me the iPhone 5 is just a longer iPhone 4 which came out way back in 2010. People it's almost 2013. lol

I should find a way to copyright "iphone4Stretch", or as I call it, "iFail4Stretch"
56. tegradragon (Posts: 68; Member since: 23 May 2012)
''even' Nokia with the Lumia 920'?
Just 'Nokia with the Lumia 920' :)
iPhone's design is super outdated.
60. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
The Lumia 920 is just a bigger N9 of yesteryear. And you are right. It's almost 2013 and the fabled Nokia phnne that will pull the company out of the hole it dug for itself by sitting on its laurels with Symbian and 600mhz phones still has no release date.
5. lumialove (Posts: 75; Member since: 16 May 2012)
Maybe Nokia should have made a infographic regarding the sales of iPhone and nokia's since 2007.
8. JesterB (Posts: 16; Member since: 17 Nov 2011)
Nokia sells 1 million phones world wide everyday.
6. AppleConspiracy (Posts: 627; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
These attempts from competition to "prove" the obvious not only say something about how pathetic and hopeless they are, but also that iPhone is a symbolic reference of a smartphone despite all distancing in so-called "innovation".
If Nokia and Samsung were that self-confident, they wouldn't so much care to compare themselves to such an "obsolete" phone.
11. downphoenix (Posts: 2134; Member since: 19 Jun 2010)
They compare them since Apple is the gold standard. Even though its certainly not due to the specs or quality of device, its due to marketing.
15. AppleConspiracy (Posts: 627; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
Samsung and Nokia have more agressive marketing than Apple has ever had, so it's not about that.
33. SGSatlantis (Posts: 205; Member since: 20 Jul 2011)
And "I'm a Mac, and I'm a PC" was subtle? Everybody compares to the most successful, maybe next year that will be Samsung or Nokia and others will compare to them.
62. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
And that makes it better? Ooohh, they did it too!
47. Alistaire (Posts: 132; Member since: 13 Apr 2012)
and now even Apple ads left little to be desired... (Genius?...uff...)
24. JunitoNH (Posts: 708; Member since: 15 Feb 2012)
Nicely said and expressed, but you forgot to mention the rabbit followers.
25. Nickmfnjackson (Posts: 99; Member since: 21 Jan 2010)
Obsolete phone? I'm no apple fan, but that's some of the dumbest s#! + I've ever heard.
77. AppleConspiracy (Posts: 627; Member since: 18 Oct 2011)
I thought I put quotation marks on "obsolete". Read again.

grat job nokia. welcome back. real smartphone is 920. i am amazed by the technology used in it. nothing is copied everything i s coool.. hope wp8 is good. samsung this will be ur real test dont copy nokia this time.

Nokia lumia far better than iphone,it doesn't take a genius to figure it out
14. rusticguy (Posts: 2810; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
Naah ... Nokia's iPhone doesn't have the Apple tattoooo on the butt ... :D
16. CreeDiddy (Posts: 195; Member since: 04 Nov 2011)
Nokia is a failing company trying to revive themselves with Windows Phone 8...Please...
Camera = Only pictures will tell within a month on comparison. They should look similar.
Panorama = Should look similar.
Maps = Both are very barebones, but in the end will provide great support. Google is crowned as KING on this...
Cable = You don't need the adapter...LOL!!! Comes with the 8 pin cable. Charging pad is not a new concept. Heard of Powermat?!?!?!? Its been out for more than 5 years.
Accessory = Headphones...who cares if you get a bluetooth portable JBL speaker. Most people have a home theater system with bluetooth, airplay, or DLNA.
Screen size = Okay you won one. It should look sharp based on the res.
UI = Come on...they are getting desperate with details.
Design = I can access apps very easily. Live tiles are nice, but Windows Phone has been out for more than 2 years. Nothing new.
Design color = I like black phones. Anyone who is male with a purple or yellow phone should be criticized.
I rest my case. Another stupid ad that won't influence buyers.....
26. bigmikememe2012 (Posts: 3; Member since: 19 Sep 2012)
I care for free bluetooth headphones....nevermind ifans are always rich. hahaha
"UI = Come on...they are getting desperate with details"
far better from icons? don't you think?
"Design = I can access apps very easily. Live tiles are nice, but Windows Phone has been out for more than 2 years. Nothing new."
And a phone that has been out for 5 years? nothing new....
"Design color = I like black phones. Anyone who is male with a purple or yellow phone should be criticized."
Don't be hattin` people with style. :)
31. captainqtp (Posts: 16; Member since: 25 Jun 2010)
Camera = we've seen live demos of the low light camera demonstrations and the optical image stabilization. There is a definite, marked improvement.
Panorama = Nokia is again focused on low light perf which is better
Maps = Google and Nokia maps are fairly competitive. Google gets the edge. Maps on IOS... way behind.
Cable = and yet Europe requires micro usb charging capability. Apple is also going to be charging probably $30 for the adapter to use their old parts. Can you say 3,000% markup?
Accessory = Bluetooth headphones are amazing and I love them. I use a set of motorola headphones presently for all my workouts.
Screen size = it isn't just that it is sharper. It also brighter, and better outdoors.
UI= The UI won me over from Android. I hated the screenshots and total dearth of capabilities before Mango, but I saw a post Mango device and I was instantly intrigued.
Design color = that's nice... I hate the limited color selection on phones and I like the new color trend. You can still get the phones in black if you want, but now you have more choice.
40. -box- (Posts: 3534; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Camera: pictures are already out. Check youtube, or do a google/Bing search.
Panorama: already available to multiple platforms, but Microsoft's Photosynth offers full spherical views; apple just offers a sweep, though admittedly does offer decent stitching.
Maps: Nokia has the best consumer-available maps in the world. Google's are great, and offer excellent add-ons, but Nokia's are more accurate, kept more up to date, and available offline
Cable: you need an adaptor for the European standard MicroUSB by law, and all the accessories previously purchased will need an adaptor.
Accessory: most people I know don't have a home theater system, DLNA, nor Bluetooth, but they do have a Kinect and a soundbar. DLNA is still in its infancy in terms of mass adoption. NFC and wireless charging that comes with the JBL PlayUp is a great feature, and no cables or adaptors.
Screen size: agree
UI: ios is stale. BLACKBERRY has had more drastic UI changes in the last 2 years than apple has had in almost 6. Hell, even Palm/WebOS has had more changes and improvements!
Design: Agreed, LiveTiles aren't anything new, but they're sure newer than static icons. Apple's designs are overly simplistic: my toddler nephews have more complicated building block shapes.
Color: black is boring. Most phones are monochomatic, uninteresting, and have nothing to set them apart at a distance. People have had to overcome that by purchasing cases to individualize the device. I can't even count how many compliments I've gotten on my cyan Lumia 900, not only because it's a unique color, but because it has color and is therefore unique.
42. -box- (Posts: 3534; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
Also, for color: what is more interesting and visually striking, a yellow Lamborghini, or a black camry? A green Alienware tower, or a generic black box computer? A Desert Eagle, or a standard-issue Glock? A Post-It, or a piece of loose leaf? Black has it's place, but it's very boring and monochromatic palettes are passe.
41. rusticguy (Posts: 2810; Member since: 11 Aug 2012)
It would have influenced me if it was Nokia on Android. Nokia lost due to Elop the trojan and will continue losing.
71. haseebzahid (Posts: 1761; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
most of your points are trash based on your own taste no facts in that so shutup
20. baldilocks (Posts: 424; Member since: 14 Dec 2008)
"any kind pens..." I guess we can't use unkind pens.
If Nokia can't even proofread their ads, then........
43. -box- (Posts: 3534; Member since: 04 Jan 2012)
I have a hunch that this was fan-created, due to lack of proper kerning, proofreading, and the graphics for the iphone looking more like those for a Galaxy S3. I can't confirm this as I'm at work and don't have access to Facebook right now.
21. honeynegi (Posts: 2; Member since: 12 Jul 2012)
iphone is just a piece of crap, people buy's this product because of its smooth touch, this is because you can not customize it according to you like you can do in Android devices..................................
you can check out quick review of iphone and Note 2 at
63. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
You can't customise this either, other than moving tiles around, which ain't much better than moving icons around on the iPhone. Crap logic for crap people.
28. triPleD (Posts: 13; Member since: 13 Sep 2012)
im an apple fan, and must confess that the lumia920 is on point...check out any youtube video on it, the phone rocks...apple has a lot of work to do, i personally think they should take a year or two off and just meditate until they get enlightenment and hopefully come out with a truly revolutionary phone
44. meowcenary (Posts: 187; Member since: 13 Apr 2012)
Well it is easy rest on one's laurels when the masses flock to each iteration of the iphone. The apple users are rabid and loyal, so apple really does not have to do much. With this iteration the hardware is kicked up a notch, along side the data aspect. So revolutionary is not the word for apple, the familiar UI and app store is all that is needed.
As for the Lumia 920, HTC 8S and 8X those are tough choices. I love them both equally...The samsung one, I am not warm to at all.........
29. good2great (Posts: 1020; Member since: 22 Feb 2012)
this is silly... when will Nokia and Samsung understand that iPhone popularity isnt based off features... its the trust and relationship they gained with the fans...
most of my friends with iphones had no idea that ios 6 is the new operating system... all they know is that apple has a new iphone and they want it...
its the way that you "present" the features to customers that convert them into idolizing your products.
apple doesn't have to make a reply spec sheet against these two companies... it's silly...
34. gallitoking (Posts: 4623; Member since: 17 May 2011)
I feel for Nokia.. for getting desperate already on their phones,, loved their N8 but their Lumia phones will collect dust on shelves, before taking on the big boy Apple . nokia should take down LG, HTC, or Sony get confidence and followers. tha ones here cheer for Windows phone but most of them buy Android... that doesn't help does it
39. chaoticrazor (Posts: 2347; Member since: 28 Aug 2012)
and perfect example of your fanboyism. ''big boy apple'' seriously grow up mate
nokia's new phones (the 820 and 920) are better phones then the iphone its fact, simple clear facts.
wp8 will hopefully fit perfectly and give customers more choice, then theres BB and apparently firefox OS. all will benefit the consumer
64. aoikemono27 (Posts: 177; Member since: 27 Feb 2012)
Your simple clear facts are neither simple, clear, nor factual. I can argue specs and ecosystem and various other things, but intelligent debate is clearly not your strong suit. Have fun with your trumped up hatred of something.
