Nokia Lumia 610 Hands-on Review
In terms of design, it's clearly visible that the device is targeted at the younger crowd with its fresh, colorful appearance. The Lumia 610 is going to come in a number of different colors like white, cyan, magenta and, of course, black, for the fans of the more conservative looks. Around the sides of the device, there's a very glossy plastic, again in the same color as the handset, which is quite the attention-grabber. However, make no mistake, the phone is all-plastic and quite lightweight, so it won't surprise you with any premium feel. Despite this, we think it's one cool-looking handset.

In order to bring us this low-end Windows Phone, Nokia and Microsoft have worked to lower the OS's system requirements, and, understandably, what we get on the Nokia Lumia 610 is a single-core 800MHz processor, coupled with 256MB of RAM. Still, this shouldn't bother you, guys, as the operating system is still running very, very fluidly on the phone. We have no worries whatsoever about the performance of the handset. However, we can't be sure about the FPS that will be observed when playing heavier 3D games, but for general purposes, the Nokia Lumia 610 specs are good enough.
In terms of software, the UI is the stock one, but Nokia is pre-loading its special apps for Maps, Drive, Music, Pulse and so on, so there will be a lot of added functionality with Nokia's Windows Phones as a whole.
Unfortunately, there's no concrete Lumia 610 release date given, but we should see the handset appear on shelves no later than Q2 of this year.

The only thing stopping me from purchasing this phone is the fact that I have no details on the zune account. Is it like an android account? Can someone help me out? lol

All you need is a Windows Live account (Hotmail, Xbox, Live etc), after that Zune works pretty much like iTunes and such. If you don't have an account, you can just register a new one :)

Wow at last a person can buy a cheap smart phone that wont be a waste of your good old hard earned money. Microsoft did a great job of designing a smart phone OS that can well run on a low spec device. they should get an award for their great Work and Nokia deserves great credit for designing and making very affordable Windows 7 series smart phones that People can afford to buy. I wonder if it will be sold in the USA. I hope so because this would be a smart phone a parent could afford to buy and give their children or try out a windows smart phones for themselves to see if they like it . If they are sold in the states they will be sold at 25$ or zero $ on a 2 year contract. but hell why do that when you can buy the smart phone for less 300$

Microsoft certainly learned from the whole Kin fiasco. And it helps to have Nokia as a partner. I'm really impressed how the WP experience was translated onto lower end hardware. I'll certainly be considering this since I'm looking at the pre-paid/no-contract market.

Hope it'll be available for T-Mobile and AT&T prepaid plans... too cheap for a contract IMHO, and then I could pick one up on the cheap without a commitment and use it as a backup or app development
