No stylus for LG G4, but there could be an LG G4 Stylus mid-range phone

No stylus for LG G4, but there could be an LG G4 Stylus mid-range phone
Back in December, just before the turn of the year, we passed along a rumor about the LG G4. The speculation had LG including a stylus with its new LG G4 flagship phone to help it compete with the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the S Pen. Recently, LG filed with the USPTO for a trademark covering the name G4 Stylus.

However, a published report on Sunday cites a source as saying that LG has decided against producing a stylus for the LG G4. On the other hand, LG is expected to produce a successor to the mid range LG G3 Stylus handset.

A document recently discovered reveals a model number LG-H631 which is also known as project P1S. This model is expected to feature a display with a resolution of 720 x 1280. Considering that the LG-H810 is believed to be the LG G4 for AT&T and is listed as P1, P1S could either be the LG G4 Stylus, or the LG G4s. The latter would be the sequel to the LG G3s which is considered a "mini" version of LG's flagship phone.

IMO LG should take notes from Samsung, Apple and Sony
G4, a flagship phone,with a 4.7-5.2" screen
G4 Note/G4 Max/G4+, a flagship phablet with stylus and a 5.5-6" screen
G4 Mini/G4 Compact, a flagship mini phone with a 4-4.5" screen
All with the same specs, except slightly different screen res and battery size

LG knows this. They will release the said compact and max versions, but their specs will be so awful, you will be forced to buy the original flagship.

Quad-core 1.2 GhZ processor, 2GB of RAM, 16 GB ROM, 5MP Front/13MP Back camera, 5.7 inch 720p screen...sounds like a total bargain for under 300 bucks, and certainly not terrible specs in my book. My last mid-grade phone from LG (3 years ago) had only dual core, 1GB of RAM, 2 (that's right...two) GB of ROM storage, and a 1.3MP front/5.0MP back camera, and the screen is barely worth noting (4.5 inch, 540p).

That's a lot of big incremental changes for about the same price, and I didn't feel "forced" to drop another 300 bucks for the flagship models: I mean, really, how many people can actually tell the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 5.7" PHONE. My 23" LCD computer monitor isn't even quite 1080p!! (1680x1050)

Well there's only 1 gig of ram, so I don't know where you are getting your specs. I might be able to live with the display at 258ppi, and the dated processor, but there's no way you could deal with 1 gig of ram. Not with all the lg bloat.

Just buy a g3 and some peppermint toothpicks. Ur good to go.

Xiaomi Mi Note doesn't even have a stylus. How do they think putting "Note" name for that device? Or intentionally copying Samsung Galaxy Note name? Now, that's a serious question. Waiting for Mi fans to answer it... :)

That's a good decision. You can't compete with both the S and Note simultaneously.

Hope the G4 note isn't another awful mid-ranger

Stylus is not that necessary since not everyone commonly use it in every day life. But IMO, if LG really want to include stylus separately, the device should be a flagship like the G4 too, not a downgrade-spec like this.
