Microsoft's Cortana has a perfect track record in predicting World Cup victories

While Cortana can’t offer full voice control yet, the new Windows Phone 8.1 personal assistant can answer to pretty much any question you may have. Thus, lots of soccer / football fans started asking her who would win in various matches played at the 2014 FIFA World Cup. Until now, all the predictions that Cortana made turned out to be accurate. The last prediction was that Germany would win over France in today’s first quarter-final - and that’s what just happened, as the French team lost 0 - 1 to Die Mannschaft.

Cortana also predicted a winner for the other quarter-final that’s about to start today: Brazil - Colombia. She believes that Brazil, the host nation of the World Cup, will win. If Cortana is right on this one, too, it will be her tenth correct prediction.

As we told you a couple of days ago, Cortana uses Bing-powered algorithms for its predictions. Of course, you shouldn’t hurry up betting on Brazil just yet - because, you know, even machines can be wrong. Anyway, we’ll see in a few hours if Cortana got this one right.
