LG Optimus 2X random reboot, freeze bug fixed
We can think of a few companies who would simply ignore the voice of the masses, but, lo and behold, LG heard it and is actually coming up with an update to fix the issue. The update is rolling out across the Old Continent now, but it should be up to the carrier to decide when it’ll be pushed in your region.
The LG Optimus 2X was released as the T-Mobile G2x stateside, but the U.S. version hasn't been reported to have the problem. Just what exactly is the issue? The Optimus 2X seems to “freeze and often reboot in a kind of a loop,” users complained. The only solution known so far was to manually remove and put back the battery. Did you get the update? Feel welcome to let us know if the issue is now resolved for you in the comments below!

the G2X does infact have a random but not too often reboot issue. It is however been very limited and not on every one of the phones. The phone is fantastic otherwise.

I have to agree, BS is rite. The fact that LG is only acknowledging that optimus 2x p990 is the only variant that has issue is on point...If the G2x is showing the exact same issues as the optimus 2x,they are gonna make themselves look really bad. they need to get together lol no joke

I've had the G2X for about 3 weeks now and have not experienced any issues that many are complaining about. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones! :-) The only complaint I have about the phone is the battery life. I found an app that helps a lot, but I think this phone should have had a battery made so that it can sustain itself without any 3rd party apps for a decent amount of time.

I've got the freeze problem on the P990 in Europe. No patches have fixed the problem.
I've got the v10c version which is the version tells me is the latest on the update check over the air and on the PC.
I'm not impressed and now I can't return the damn phone.

LG must solve this problem faster! We use mobile phone for daily use! how can we always take off battery and put back to restart the phone?!!

Taking out the battery sure is a pain when you need to take off the casing and then the phone battery. Worse is when it happens when you are out in the city or in the bus. Will this bug be fixed when the 2.3 gingerbread is available for LG P999?

Never buy this phone!
I have reboot problems on this phone, and it makes the phone unusable. I have sent the phone to repair twice, and the only thing they did was software reinstall. And they said the phone was now ok. They have run a stresstest, too. I got it back, and started to download my games, etc from Android Market. And the phone got very warm and started the reboot cycle again... The second time it was the sme, they did software reinstall, and "stresstest"... Just minutes after I got the phone, I started download the programs and games I needed. And it started reboot again...
After the second time it came from repair, LG-repair wrote that if I sent the phone to repair again, I would have to pay for the repair... (In Norway, if you send a product to repair for the same problem, then after the 3rd time, you have claim on a new product. (For me, that would unfortunately be the same model, but at least a new phone that might work better...) So LG obviously tries to trick me, here...
The phone is still useless, I can use it 1-2 minutes before it reboot, or at best 20mins.After 20 minutes it's so warm that I am seriously worried, and then, if I lock the phone or go online, it will start the reboot cycle again.
So my advice is: Never buy LG! I have a friend who has the same problem, but at lesser degree. This is a crappy phone and they did some crappy mod to the Android, too!
Never buy LG! The worst thing is that they will not fix my phone... So I am stuck with this crappy and totally unusable phone... :(
