Intel-powered Acer Iconia B1-730 HD shows up, should be announced next week

Acer is getting ready to host a press event in New York City next week, on April 29. It appears that the company will announce multiple new products then - as the image seen above is suggesting. One of the upcoming products will most likely be the Acer Iconia B1-730 HD tablet.

This new Iconia was revealed by German website Mobile Geeks today, so we can take a pretty good look at it before Acer announces it. The back of the Iconia B1-730 HD certainly resembles the device teased on the right in Acer’s image from above (the rest of the devices seem to be laptops).

In case you were wondering, the B1-730 isn’t a high-end tablet. Its features include a 7-inch IPS display with 800 x 1280 pixels, a dual-core Intel Atom Z2560 processor clocked at 1.6GHz, 5MP rear camera, 1GB of RAM, 8GB / 16GB of expandable internal memory, and a 3,700 mAh battery. The new tablet is the successor to the entry-level Acer Iconia B1-720, which offers a 7-inch display with a measly 600 x 1024 pixel resolution, and a dual-core MediaTek processor.

The Acer Iconia B1-730 is already listed at Amazon Germany, where it’s been priced at €139. The retailer doesn’t show any images of the tablet, and it doesn’t say when it expects to have it in stock.

We’re assuming that the new tablet won’t cost more than $150 in the US, but we’ll see about that next week.
