HTC hasn't yet taken the opportunity to announce its 2016 flagship -- the HTC 10 (One M10) -- which we expect to be showcased in just under two weeks. Whilst the device remains under wraps, speculation has already begun with regards to future handsets, including a new tidbit on the HTC 10's miniature version. Though it will naturally be a scaled-down version of its flagship counterpart, a report on the HTC 10 Mini suggests it won't scrimp on power, with a new high-end Snapdragon 823 processor under the hood.

According to Austrian site Android-News, the Snapdragon 823 will be identical to the Snapdragon 820, though will offer a higher maximum clock speed at 2.8 GHz. Along with the new chip, the HTC 10 mini will purportedly include 4 GB of RAM, while the rest of the handset's specs probably won't deviate too far from the standard model.

The display will be a 4.7-inch offering, so should appeal to those seeking flagship specs over a smaller footprint. The world has been largely impressed by Apple's recent unveiling of the iPhone SE which crams cutting-edge hardware into a miniature bundle, so it's important that rivaling firms like HTC prepare solid competition.
