Orhan has been with PhoneArena since 2006 — back when phones had physical keyboards, resistive touchscreens, and “apps” were things you installed from a CD, not the cloud. He began by entering product specs and organizing reviews, until one day he was handed a camera and asked to shoot a phone. That small assignment turned into a long-term relationship with photography, studio lights, and the eternal hunt for reflections he never asked for.

Over the years, Orhan also took on device testing duties, running battery life and charging tests, camera quality tests, display measurements, and all the other practical evaluations that feed into the team’s reviews. He prefers to keep things simple — set up the test, run it properly, record the results — no drama, no overthinking, just clean data.

In the studio, he still relies on the same two microfiber cloths he got more than 15 years ago — partly out of loyalty and partly because every “new and improved” cloth he’s tried since has been a disappointment.

Whether he’s lining up a shot or re-running measurements, Orhan tends to get absorbed in the process and can keep going for as long as necessary — a trait that pairs well with his hobby of running 2–3 marathons a year.

After handling hundreds of devices, he doesn’t play favorites. Give him a phone with a decent camera, solid build, and sensible software, and he’s content. His work powers the data and photography behind PhoneArena’s reviews.
