GOOD But no much

Reza14 has owned it for more than one year before publishing this review

Price 1years ago
Install many app in my phone
Speed is good and not bug
Display is nice quality
GPU is enough
The game works great And there is no slowness and weakness
The camera has a great selfie, but the main camera is lower than expected
The quality of the device is acceptable for a mid-range, but a lot of weight is long annoying
Cutting the metal parts of the device is eye-catching and attracts great attention
Maybe the design is a bit old, but this does not diminish its beauty
One of the positive aspects of the slot is the 3rd, slip-free hybrid slider of the phone in terms of communication and media of its ranks.

Show off specs, but dissapointing in the real world

tournelhenry has owned it for less than 3 months before publishing this review

While the device performance and exterior is impressive, my biggest dissapointments are in the camera and Sony's customer care. They boasted of a Manual Mode that really doesn't work. You can't adjust your ISO and Shutter Speeds independently. I've complained about this and followed their suggestions and yet, got no reply from Sony. So, I'll assume it's part of the design. That sucks!
The lens is also poor as light sources stretch out and f**k up the image instead of appearing like stars as you see on good lens (my old alcatel IDOL 4S).
It maintains the headphone jack for those that won't switch to wireless and you still have SD cards. But also, the SD card is only useful for media content as apps can't store data on it. Even WhatsApp won't detect it or backup chats on it. Another dissapointment.

Build quality
8.0
The metallic body, screen size and easy to remove sim/sd card slot makes it convienient to carry about. The large size is inconvievient though
Reception
4.0
It loooked awesome on paper, but the real world performance was slightly disappointing
Call quality
8.0
Call and mic quality were good. And its support for aptX HD makes it okay with bluetooth headsets
Internet
9.0
Supports LTE and dual band WIFI
Multimedia
6.0
While you can play a large range of files and use 3rd party apps and have SD card expansion. Some apps can't easily find the SD card
Camera
2.0
The camera is the greatest dissapointment for this device. It has a bad lens quality that makes it horrible at photographing scenes with light sources. Worst of all, the so-called "Manual Mode" doesn't allow you independently adjust its ISO and Shutter Speed settings. The video mode has no manual controls and its object tracking and autofocus sucks. I had to replace it with a 3rd part app.
UI speed
5.0
Android to me has always had a crappy UI. Probably because I'm more adapted to Windows Phone and iOS fluid UI. But also, the positioning of icons, keyboard design and Sony's Home/Lock screen is terrible itself.
Everyday usage
6.0
For everyday usage, it lasts long (great battery life). It's large size can be a bit problematic, but it's smooth shape makes it easy to hold. The CPU and Connectivity (including an NFC) are very good. The camera remains the biggest disaster.
Text input
5.0
This is a general problem with Androids. The keyboard inputs never meet the experience on m Windows Phone. But the customisablity of the keyboards gives it a little advantage as you can install different keyboards with different strenghts and weaknesses
Display
7.0
The display quality is great in my opinion. I wish it was OLED though. But it's bright enough and images appear mostly sharp. The large screen size also gives a better video and gaming experience
Battery
9.0
I think this is the strongest part of this device. The battery can last all day under heavy usage (lots of photography). It feels like it never dies out

Pros

  • Good Body design
  • Large Screen with great resolution and image quality (feels like OLED when it's not)
  • Huge battery life
  • Sufficient CPU performance for this price
  • Dedicated Dual SIM option

Cons

  • Bad Camera Lens and Software (i.e Manual Mode lacks control. No true Manual mode like a Samsung S8)
  • Large size might be a little inconvenient
  • Poor SD card support
  • Poor customer service/Communication from Sony
