The Galaxy Tab S12 series will have cellular connectivity

There's not much to decipher from a simple Bluetooth SIG listing, but looking at the model numbers, we know that the Galaxy Tab S12 series will come in two flavors.

The Galaxy Tab S12+ will be available in cellular (5G) and Bluetooth-only variants in all markets. The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, however, will also have a cellular variant, but it might be limited to South Korea and the global market and miss the US.

When should we expect the Galaxy Tab S12 launch?

Samsung already shed some light on the Galaxy S26 FE and Galaxy Tab S12 launch timeframe during Samsung’s Q3 2026 earnings call. Answering a question about the profitability of its MX business, Samsung's Head of the Strategic Planning Group for Mobile Experience, Daniel Araujo, said that both the S26 FE and the Galaxy Tab S12 will launch in the second half of the year.



That's not very specific, but the Bluetooth SIG certification offers additional insight into the launch window for these two tablets.

Typically, high-profile consumer electronics regulatory filings like Bluetooth SIG usually occur in the final stretch. Major brands like Samsung usually launch their devices roughly 1 to 3 months after the certification appears publicly online.

This means the Galaxy Tab S12 series is slated for release sometime between August and October. The most plausible prediction is early September, timed with the IFA Berlin show.

Galaxy Tab S12 rumored specs and price

A fresh leak from August 9 showed renders of both the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. The renders depict very slim bezels on the Ultra model, along with the controversial notch in the horizontal upper frame.

The Plus model looks very similar to its predecessor, but there's not much to take away from these renders, as they only show the front of both devices.

In terms of specs, the Galaxy Tab S12+ is expected to feature a 12.4-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The bigger Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will most likely keep the massive 14.6-inch OLED screen.

Both tablets are expected to have MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 chipset on board and the S Pen bundled inside the retail box. The smaller tablet will feature a 10,600 mAh battery, while its bigger brother is expected to have a 11,600 mAh cell on board.

The prices are still anyone's guess, but judging from the predecessors and factoring in the ongoing chip shortage crisis, the Tab S12+ is expected to start around $1,100, and the Tab S12 Ultra at approximately $1,400 for the 256GB variant.
