On May 1, T-Mobile's Chief Business and Product Officer Mike Katz sold nearly $1 million of T-Mobile shares. Today, Katz announced a more personal move that effectively ends a career at T-Mobile that spanned more than 20 years. Katz began with a part-time job selling VoiceStream inside stores like Best Buy, Circuit City, and Sears.

He worked his way up the ladder, and in an autobiographical LinkedIn post, Katz thanked the executives who believed in him. Some of those names you might not know, others such as John Legere and Mike Sievert, you do.

Officially, Katz is leaving to chase down "new professional interests," although he will be hanging around headquarters until the end of the year. At T-Mobile, he will be given a strategic advisory role until 2026 comes to an end.

T-Mobile hires new Chief Enterprise Officer

As one executive plans on his departure from T-Mobile, another one gets ready to start his career with the wireless provider once known as the Un-carrier. Joining as Chief Enterprise Officer of T-Mobile, starting October 14, 2026, is Chris Sambar. The latter will be running T-Mobile's Small and Medium Business (SMB), enterprise, and government businesses.

He also will be in charge of T-Mobile Advertising Solutions (T-Ads). This unit looks at consumer behavior and app usage to help companies promote brands through the placement of targeted ads on mobile displays, digital billboards, in-store retail networks, and even in rideshares.

Sambar reports directly to CEO Srini Gopalan

Sambar will also be in charge of Physical AI. This initiative puts computing hardware into the carrier's cell towers to optimize network traffic flow in cities like San Jose. Companies are using the network to fly drones over hundreds of thousands of miles of utility transmission lines. The drones are looking for rust and thermal anomalies so repairs can be made before the lines suffer worse damage.

Sambar previously spent two decades at AT&T and was in charge of the carrier's 5G mobile network deployment as well as enterprise sales. He also spent some time as chief operating officer at Public Storage, a company that owns public storage facilities. He will report directly to T-Mobile CEO Srini Gopalan.
