Some iPhone users get new Apple Store app virtual shopping assistant preview
Apple is using AI in a new virtual assistant that helps Apple Store app shoppers.

Leaker ShrimpApplePro posted a tweet that shows a new feature for the iPhone. In the Apple Store app, some iPhone users are seeing an early preview of an AI-powered shopping assistant. The virtual shopping assistant preview is only available to select iPhone users from the Apple Store app.
Don't confuse the Apple Store app with the Apple App Store
Don't confuse this with the App Store. Consider the Apple Store app to be the online version of an Apple Store where you can browse Apple products and purchase them. The virtual shopping assistant replaces your search icon in the Apple Store app

Look for the speech bubble with the AI "sparkles," which tells you that you have the shopping assistant
On the bottom right of the display is a speech bubble icon with a pair of AI "sparkles." You can tap the icon and ask the virtual assistant your queries about Apple products. There are also some prompts that appear on ShrinpApplePro's picture of the app such as:
- Compare iPad lineup
- Latest Apple products
- Find my trade-in value
- Explain carrier offers
- Help me choose a Watch
- iPhone monthly payments
You can see a timeline of your order as it progresses from Processing > Preparing to ship > Shipped > Delivered.
Apple has yet to offically announce this feature
Apple has not yet officially announced the launch of this feature, which explains why it hasn't been released to all iPhone users. Now I'm going to let you in on a little secret so you can tell in seconds whether you have the virtual shopping assistant on your iPhone.
As we've already said, the new feature replaces the search icon in the Apple Store app. That icon is the magnifying glass on the bottom right of the display. You probably already know where I am going with this.
Best use of AI in iPhone
If you open the Apple Store app and see the search icon, you do not have the Apple Store app virtual shopping assistant. If you see the search bubble with a couple of sparkles instead, congrats! You have the virtual shopping assistant on your iPhone.
