Samsung has announced that it will hold an event next week and Gemini might have told us what to expect.

Samsung has announced today that it is holding a Galaxy Event on August 27. The event will introduce what the company calls "the newest addition to the Galaxy S26 family." The product is, in Samsung's own words, "purposefully designed to bring the core Galaxy S26 experiences from camera to AI, along with the latest One UI, to those who look for what truly matters most to them."
Samsung announces that its next event will be held on August 27 and livestreamed online
The event will be livestreamed by Samsung on the Samsung.com website and the Samsung YouTube channel. The event will start on Thursday, August 27 at 5 AM PDT/8 AM EDT/1 PM BST/2 PM CEST.
Will this event have something to do with the Galaxy S26 FE?
Originally, it appeared that this event had nothing to do with the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE. Last year's Galaxy S25 FE was introduced on September 4, roughly a week later than the August 27 event date. But the Galaxy S24 FE was kept under wraps until late September in 2024.

Gemini AI might have given away a secret
However, something curious took place when I ran a photo of the invitation for the event through Gemini with the prompt, "What will we see?" The image looked the same except that the middle "lens" of the "camera" on the invitation changed.
What are you hoping that Samsung announces next week?
The picture Samsung supplied us with showed Galaxy AI sparkles escaping from a box with the words "Galaxy Event" underneath. Below that is the date of the event (August 27, 2026) and the words "Live on Samsung.com." After I asked Gemini what we could expect to see at the event, the "lens" showed the same box with the Galaxy AI sparkles.

The words under the box were different and read, "Galaxy AI Event." Somewhat shockingly, the next line said, "Galaxy S26 FE." In smaller print, the bottom line says, "Live on Samsung.com."
Rumored specs for the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE (just in case)
Yes, AI is known to hallucinate, but what else could this event be for? Assuming that we will see the Galaxy S26 FE unveiled next week, the latest rumored specs call for the device to sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a resolution of 1080 x 2340. Under the hood will be the 3nm Gate-All-Around Exynos 2500 application processor with 8GB of memory and storage options of 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB.
The triple-camera setup includes a 50MP Main camera, a 12MP Ultra-wide camera, and an 8MP Telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The front-facing camera weighs in at 12MP. Keeping the lights on is a 4,900 mAh battery that will charge at 45W (Wired) and 15W wirelessly.
