In its home country, Samsung has just released the Galaxy Quantum 7. That's a ~$500 mid-ranger; it's another installment in Sammy's Quantum series, but it's reportedly lacking the very feature that makes it interesting in the first place.

The new Galaxy Quantum 7 probably has no quantum random number generator (QRNG) on board. That's what the latest reports claim and it's really eyebrow-raising since without it, this phone probably isn't deserving of the "Quantum" moniker.
QRNG isn't something that's discussed on a daily basis, so don't feel bad for yourself if you don't know what it is.
The quantum chip in these phones, generally speaking, acts as a reliable random number generator. This makes the phone super secure… in theory. These phones are made for domestic usage, as they work only on the SK Telecom network in South Korea, so US users should abandon all hope.

Random numbers for the win
The quantum random-number generator (QRNG) chip creates genuinely unpredictable numbers for encryption keys. The chip takes advantage of unpredictable quantum behavior, such as the behavior of individual photons, to generate random 0s and 1s that are much harder to predict than numbers produced by conventional software. Those random numbers can then be used by the phone's security systems to create stronger encryption keys and protect things like authentication and sensitive data.
A Galaxy A57 5G, really
So now that the Galaxy Quantum 7 isn't being advertised as having the QRNG chip on it, it's probably a carbon copy of the Galaxy A57 5G. That's the only conclusion, since it too features an Exynos 1680 chipset, 8 GB of RAM, 128 GB of flash storage and a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a 120 Hz refresh rate.
On the back of the new Quantum 7, Samsung has installed a 50 MP main camera, a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 5 MP macro camera, which I wouldn't use for anything (literally). The selfie is modest at 12 MP.
In terms of battery, the phone comes with a 5,000 mAh cell. Nothing to write home about. Probably the best thing about it is that it's 179 g (that's light) and it's under 7 mm thick.
