This might be Apple's iPhone X Plus: 6.5-inch screen in a compact body

Shortly after seeing what could be Apple's upcoming 6.1-inch iPhone 9, we can now take a look at an alleged 6.5-inch iPhone X Plus - which might be announced sometime in September alongside the aforementioned iPhone 9.

Thanks to multiple renders revealed by MySmartPrice and reliable @OnLeaks, we can see that the iPhone X Plus shouldn't differ too much from last year's iPhone X. In fact, the two devices appear to be nearly identical, although the new model will be larger (since it sports a 6.5-inch screen instead of a 5.8-inch one).

Reportedly, the iPhone X Plus measures 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm, so it should be just as thin as the original iPhone X, but taller and wider (in case you're wondering, the regular iPhone X measures 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm). Overall, this iPhone X Plus is about as large as the iPhone 8 Plus. As you may know, the 8 Plus sports a 5.5-inch screen, but it's got huge bezels so it measures 158.4 x 78.1 x 7.5 mm.

Everything on the iPhone X Plus seems to be positioned just like on the iPhone X - the notch, the side buttons, the Lightning port and speakers, and the dual rear camera (with an LED flash in the middle). Of course, we can't know for sure if Apple will name the new handset iPhone X Plus, but this is a moniker that makes perfect sense, as the device is basically an enlarged iPhone X.

According to a previous rumor, the 6.5-inch screen of the iPhone X Plus is likely an OLED one with 1242 x 2688 pixels. The handset should further bring various internal improvements, including a faster processor and a battery of at least 3,000 mAh (larger than the 2,716 mAh battery of the regular X). Without representing a major upgrade, this might become Apple's best iPhone yet. But we'll just have to wait and see about that.

Looks good. Price it right. Have about 250 in gift cards to knock off some money.

I doubt this anything more than a render of rumors. I would imagine the notch to be same size as the x or smaller giving way more room on the sides. You could almost get rid of the knotch of up where it’s at push it up into the curved bezel making it straight and not curved just right there. Ther would still be an appearance of a bump but screen would be straight across and no bezzle

I used to say the same thing once. Many many many leaks from many many phones later, I've come to accept the fact that most leaks from sites like phonearena are usually 99% accurate. Speaking of which, can anyone recall a time within the past 3 years or more where phonearena has given bad leak info?

Note 9 FTW but this notchness will sell more.

Samsung fluffed the S9, it sold poorly compared to the S8 and the Exynos chip was a dud. Hopefully they do a minor update to the Exynos in the Note 9 but I somehow doubt it. Eh, Apple always outsells Samsung but sales aren't directly proportional to quality even though both are excellent.

Samsung sells more smartphones every year compared to Apple. Only Apples few models sell more per model, because you have less choices with Apple. With Apple it's take whatever they give you.

Really? You're going to claim that Apple is the only one with quality? You're such a deluded Apple fanboy. So what about Touch disease, Antennagata, Bendgata, Apple's "sapphire" claims, Batterygata, Apple's smartphone slowdown and so on? They were all a result of this superior "quality"? Yeah right. The only thing you can even mark Samsung for is the Note 7, but that was a single incident, and they actually owed up to the error and gave people great compensation, unlike Apple.

ColinW your opinion is well respected...but this statement is clearly inaccurate. The satisfaction rate of iPhone’s is off the charts...

thats the thing that these iphone fans dont take into consideration...when u have many choices to choose from, sales will be spread out amongst the dozens and dozens of phones that samsung sells, as well as the many android oems that samsung is up against...on the other hand, only apple do ios, and only three iphones to choose from, before there were only one iphone to choose from, then there were two...then three. i would like to see apple put out more than a dozen phone out a year and see if any one single iphone can sell as it did when apple only had one or two iphones out a year...if a single iphone can sell the way it did while having more than a dozen of iphone models in a given year, then i will be impressed.

True, but I don't blame them. Its in the segment they do compete, the higher-end, that the money is and in this segment Apple outsell Samsung (and everyone else) by far.

That’s only supported by their mid and bottom tier. Their top shelf products are nowhere near in sales.

In the same token, it's no different with Samsung. I mean, you take what they give you as well.

Exyons 9810 it’s not a dud you guys didn’t even try it out it’s the only Android Soc that reach level of Apple A Soc when it comes to single core and multicore. I used S9 plus Exyons 9810 and it does perform very well no overheating or throttling issue like snapdragon Soc.

An A chip is as useless as putting a V8 engine on a unicycle. The phone has reserves for benchmarks because it only has half the features of most other top smartphones to actually put the hardware to use

So why are you on a topic dedicated to a "featureless" device?

It's a reply to a previous comment. Why are you on a thread just making pointless; off-topic replies?

I can understand that you don't like Apple's products - you have every right to not liking them - I don't understand why are talking about the soc (which has nothing to do with the exterior) and some features only you know of on an article about the possible size of a new iPhone... The same goes for each and every other troll that is talking about anything else but the subject of the article.

I have an S9+ with Exynos chip and it is far from a dud. It is better than the iPhone X in almost every way including faster and more reliable.

We knew what the iPhone X would look like from early March last year I believe, this render is probably just based on what we expect or an employees account of what they've seen in a render.

Of course devices will look exactly like X. Just different sizes, maybe colors. Least expensive with iX front and rear of i8.

It's still big. But nowadays you can find 6.5in phones in 5.5in bodies. So they are more compact than the screen size would suggest, though still quite big. I guess your tiny brain couldn't compute that.

Apple will keep the iPhone x design for the next 10 years no need for hardware leaks.
