Apple's ageless iPad mini 4 is on sale at Best Buy for a limited time
Normally, we wouldn’t pay too much attention to a relatively small discount offered on a three-year-old tablet for a limited time, but seeing as how Apple doesn’t plan to upgrade the iPad mini 4 this fall either, Best Buy’s latest deal actually looks noteworthy.

Apart from Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+, as well as the entire Apple Watch Series 3 lineup, the retailer is also taking $125 off the iPad mini 4’s list price during its “anniversary 2-day sale.”

Of course, we’ve seen the 7.9-incher marked down from $400 to $350 and even $300 multiple times over the years, so you’re not exactly saving a full 125 bucks here. Still, $274.99 is an arguably killer price for a timeless iOS 12-compatible slate sporting an impressively sharp 2048 x 1536 “Retina” display.

You’re obviously looking at a Wi-Fi-only configuration here, but you can choose whatever color fits your personal style best (as long as it’s gold, silver, or space gray), and you also get a whopping 128 gigs of internal storage space.

Best Buy will naturally take care of nationwide shipping free of charge, although you definitely need to hurry, as the aforementioned “2-day sale” began yesterday. That’s right, you only have a few hours left until 11:59 p.m. CT on Saturday, August 18, when all of the retailer’s anniversary deals are set to expire.

Look if you guys had half a brain the iPad mini 4 came out in 2015 and has the same processor found in the Homepod (A8). Plus with a 6.5" display in the iPhone X plus due to arrive. Why would you need a 8" iPad mini? With big smartphones and phablets in the Android camp. That started to cannibalize small Android tablets years ago to the point that it killed off small Android tablets. Oh, some are still around, but with large Android phones displays above 6 inches, you don't need a tablet or ipad with a 8 inch tablet display, especially when the phone can do more. Now Apple has to bring split screen multitasking to their iPhones, like Android. If that doesn't happen then Apple will continue to artificially separate split screen multitasking from iPhones and iPads for their iOS.

First of all it makes perfect sense to bring up Android tablets and smartphones. Especially when the gap is closing in on Apple's smallest iPad minis and their new iPhone X plus. If you cannot see that, then your an idiot. That is exactly what happened to Android tablets. There is Android smartphones/phablets with sizes all the way up to 7 inches. Like I said earlier Android smartphones/phablets have all the same capabilities as a bigger Android tablet. The only thing keeping Apples iPhones from having any iPad functionality is Apple themselves. So people continue to buy their iPads. But as soon as Apple gives iPad functionality to their iPhones. Then iPad sales will plummet. I will bet money on that one. I would put a guarantee on that.

You take the time to write out and compare the screen size from IPhone X plus 6.5 inch display to an iPhone 3, 3GS display. Yet the display size is much closer to the iPad Mini with only a difference of 1.4 inches between the iPad mini and iPhone X plus. Even the iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 8 have a 4.7 inch display which a 6.5 inch display found on the iPhone X plus is 1.8 inches bigger. So the new iPhone X plus is more comparable in physical screen size to an iPad mini than it is to the older iPhone 6, 6s, 7, and 8's. So once again the new iPhone X plus is closer to an iPad mini than it is to the much older iPhone 3 or 3GS. Now we have to see if Apple will add any iPad functionality to the larger iPhones. If not, then it's just a bigger iPhone in size only.

Don’t worry they will add pencil support and split screen if I’m not mistaken.

That's the magic of Apple! I'm sure The iPad (6th Gen) will be relevant even in 2025! And the aggressive $320 price tag blows everything out of the water. If I was Tim Cook (Big IF); I'd have priced it around $500! Apple drove a stake into the heart of Chrome Books and then put a last nail in its coffin. The closest competitor is Windows 10 ARM and it's a total... Well, lets not get ahead of ourselves, shall we? G'Day!
