Upcoming Xiaomi Mi A2 with Android One shows up on Geekbench
After the success of Xiaomi’s first Android One smartphone last year, the Mi A1, the low-cost brand looks set to make a return to the segment this year with the predictably-titled Mi A2, which has just made an appearance on Geekbench.

Overall, Xiaomi’s Mi A2 was able to score 1630 on the single-core test, while this rose to 4657 on the multi-core listing. According to the details, these results were achieved thanks to the presence of Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 660. Furthermore, this is coupled with 4GB of RAM and is backed by Android 8.1 Oreo. In addition to this, much like the Mi A1 that was based on the Mi 5X, this year’s Mi A2 is set to pack almost identical hardware to the Mi 6X. This means 64GB of internal storage is a possibility. Also, on a separate note, Xiaomi is expected to offer a variant with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage.

In regards to the external aspects of the smartphone, a large, 6-inch LCD display is currently anticipated, with a front-facing 20-megapixel camera just above. As an added extra, like last year's Mi A1, this year's device will also feature a dual-camera setup, albeit with improved sensors. Specifically, a main 12-megapixel camera should accompany a secondary 20-megapixel one. Other specifications will include stock Android 8.1 Oreo straight out of the box along with a USB Type-C connector, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a 3,010mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 3.0.

Presently, it’s unclear when Xiaomi will unveil the Mi A2 but considering the increase in leaks as of lately, a July release is highly likely to happen alongside a budget Mi A2 Lite variant.
