Verizon launches LG Chocolate

Verizon Wireless is the first US carrier to introduce the LG Chocolate, also known as VX-8500, to the US market. The stylish slider phone sports an eye-catching design with its all-black glossy surface and hidden touch sensor navigation buttons. The device, measuring 3.8 x 1.88 x 0.69 inches (97 x 48 x 17.5mm), also features a 262k color QVGA display, a 1.3 megapixel camera and music player, supporting MP3 and WMA formats, as well as external music control keys. The VX8500 supports EV-DO data and has Bluetooth capabilities, including stereo audio. Other features of the phone:

  • V CAST Music and Video.
  • MicroSD memory slot (up to 2GB).
  • Speaker independent voice recognition.



The LG Chocolate is currently available on the Verizon website in three different kits with various accessories coming along with it. The basic kit, consisting of the phone only, is priced at $149.99 with a two-year contract.
