Update from Aug 12, 2026:

Verizon tells us that the issue is limited to Albuquerque, New Mexico. It was caused by fiber cuts, and the company is working to resolve the issue.

The original story follows below:

It hasn't been very long since the last two Verizon outages, but the carrier is down again for thousands of customers across the country.

The problem started around 12:30 PM ET. At the peak of the outage, around 2,600 complaints were logged on the outage monitoring platform Downdetector, but the number has since been trending down.

Cellular issues

For most people, only cellular service has been impacted, with customers complaining of no phone signals. Some seem to be experiencing issues with the internet as well.

This doesn't appear to be a nationwide outage, with most complaints coming from the Northern and Western US.

This story is still developing. We will update the article with more information as soon as possible.
