Unannounced Xiaomi Mi 4i goes through GFXBench, specs revealed

On Saturday, we told you that Xiaomi had sent out invitations for a "Global smartphone" event to be held in New Delhi on April 23rd. Speculation is that a international version of the manufacturer's flagship model will be introduced. The phone will apparently be called the Xiaomi Mi 4i. This model has been seen going through a GFXBench benchmark test.

According to the test, this handset will feature a 4.9-inch screen with a 1080 x 1920 resolution. A hexa-core 1.6GHz Snapdragon 615 CPU is powering the device and the Adreno 405 handles graphics. Inside you will find 2GB of RAM with 16GB of native storage. A 13MP camera adorns the backside of the unit and a 5MP camera is in front for selfies and video chats. The phone supports dual SIM cards and offers 4G LTE connectivity. The model will come with Android 5.0.2 out of the box with Xiaomi's MIUI 6 skin on top.

The Xiaomi Mi 4i is expected to be priced at the equivalent of $192 USD-$208 USD. We do want to point out that these specs are a bit lower than what the manufacturer has stuffed into the Xiaomi Mi 4.

While Xiaomi is calling this a "Global event," it doesn't mean that the company is ready to sell its wares in the U.S. or Europe. It is, however, the first new model that Xiaomi has introduced outside of China.
