Three UK's HTC Desire HD finally receives its dose of Android 2.3 Gingerbread
Even though we reported back in early May that the HTC Desire HD is getting its dose of Gingerbread, it’s only now that Three UK’s version of the handset is receiving its fill of the tasty treat.

Being pushed out as an over-the-air update, owners of the Three UK HTC Desire HD should begin seeing that highly anticipated notification popping up on their handsets – indicating that they’re all set for download. Of course, if you haven’t seen it yet, you can always initiate the manual process yourself by checking for system updates under the Android settings menu. Once installed, you can expect to find some minor visual changes to the platform, but for the most part, it isn’t a dramatic departure from what they’re accustomed to already.

In any event though, you might want to backup your data prior to installing the new software update – just in case something catastrophic occurs during the installation process.
