T-Mobile to offer the LG Q7+; device carries 5.5-inch Full Vision screen

This Friday, August 3rd, T-Mobile is expected to start offering the LG Q7+. Or at least that's the assumption we can make looking at the phone's official support page that has gone live. The page has a "Software Updates" section stating that a software update for the device is to become live on August 3. That is also the date on the home screen of the LG Q7+ pictured there – another clue pointing at a nearing T-Mobile release. 

The LG Q7+ features the "modern" look with a 5.5-inch LCD display carrying a resolution of 1080 x 2160 (FHD+). That means the screen is tall and slim, with the thin bezels that are all the craze these days. Inside the handset, you'll find the Snapdragon 450 Mobile Platform equipped with an octa-core CPU running at a clock speed of 1.8GHz. Crunching graphics is the Adreno 506 GPU.

The LG Q7+ does come with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable native storage, and there is a 16MP camera on back with PDAF. Adorning the front of the phone is an 8MP camera for selfies and video chats that does feature a Portrait mode for the desired bokeh effect. Keeping the lights on is a 2890mAh battery, and the handset has an IP 68 certification rating; that means that the device can be submerged in nearly 5 feet of water for as long as 30 minutes, and escape unscathed. According to T-Mobile's product support page, Android 8.1 Oreo is pre-installed.

The phone meets military standards (MIL-STD-810G) for durability and was originally unveiled back in May. Pricing is unknown at this point, although a version offered in Singapore (powered by a MediaTek chipset) is priced at the equivalent of 439 USD. We should have a firm handle on T-Mobile's pricing by the end of the week.

If you're a T-Mobile subscriber looking for a mid-range handset with the look and capabilities of a higher-priced phone, you might want to take a look at the LG Q7+. Remember though, it may not be available from the carrier until Friday.
