Starting tomorrow, Amazon U.K. will sell you the Microsoft Lumia 535 for $147

The Microsoft Lumia 535 is equipped with a 5-inch screen offering resolution of 540 x 960. As you might expect, that works out to a rather lowly 220ppi pixel density. A quad-core 1.2GHz Snapdragon 200 CPU is under the hood while 1GB of RAM is inside. With only 8GB of native storage, odds are that you will need to employ the 128GB capacity microSD slot on board. Both back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 5MP, and a 1905mAh battery keeps the lights on. This would make a great first smartphone for the person making that leap from a featurephone.
Last month, we told you that some Lumia 535 users were having problems with the sensitivity of the touchscreen. That issue has since been corrected thanks to a software update sent out by Microsoft.

The price in Europe is plummeting... and in France you can buy it for as low as eur 99. Accessories like covers are also on sale with big discounts. I would say that the 535 has been another epic fail from Microsoft...

If you see it as an epic fail, you must be blind! These low-end phones are selling like hot cakes, it is a good strategy to lower the price, so they can sell even more! Because not everyone can afford a expensive high-end phone, and research proofes that the Windows low-end phones are selling and selling!

Why they need so many low end models? Its like having one every week. Apple make billions of dollars by having only two models. Even Samsung is cutting back on the numbers of models so they say. Can't think of any good reason. Unless to attract media attention. Does launching a new model always grab media attention?

its useless to bring Apple to the topic, they have a customer base with a completly different mindset.. "Even Samsung is cutting back on the numbers of models so they say. " 60% of the number of Samsung devices is still a lot more than what Microsoft/nokia is launching... They have only launched 5 low end , 3 mid range and 2 high end in 2014 ; 10 devices total (and some are just region variants , so actual only 7 diferent devices) Samsung has launched 60 !!!!!

I think SIGPRO you are the one who is blind. Then why is Microsoft's WP market share still dropping. And global sales are at 2.7%. Also if things are selling so well, then why does Microsoft have to put an item on sale if its selling so much.

Entry level is not working, the strong holds, if you will that wp had are slipping big last quarter. But never mind what people may want, flog them low end wares until ms wants you to care an bring money, lol f to that ms. Innovation is just another burnt bridge away, anything now that moves ahead will be crimped tight we all know it honestly.

I own a Lumia 635 with LTE, and the Lumia 535 adds double the ram, a front facing camera and a 5" display, but no LTE...windows needs to get it right...i'll have to pass.
