Sprint pushes through security update for Samsung Galaxy S III

Sprint pushes through security update for Samsung Galaxy S III
Sprint customers who have been proudly showing off their brand spanking new Samsung Galaxy S III are now receiving the first software update for the device. The update takes the device to software version L710VPLF9 and it has but one purpose, which is to bring a security update to the sizzling hot handset. If you want to check your Samsung Galaxy S III for the update manually, you can go to Menu > Settings > About phone > System updates > Update Android.

Alright, that takes care of those who already have the unit in their possession. Those who are waiting for their phone to arrive or are planning to purchase the Samsung Galaxy S III will be happy to know that the security update will be offered the update after activation of their new phone. While a security update is important to the, well, security of the device, it's no Jelly Bean update. You Samsung Galaxy S III owners weren't expecting one so quickly, were you?
