Sprint is now updating the HTC One E8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop
Sprint has just announced that it has started updating the HTC One E8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop. The OTA update has started rolling out to customers across the US, but it may take a few days before your phone gets it.
Back in late April, HTC had started updating the One E8 to Android 5.0 Lollipop in Taiwan, and now it looks like Sprint has finally gotten around towards releasing the software update for its version of the handset.
The update will bring several new features, such as a new user interface, a new lock screen, a new multitasking menu, as well as the ability to perform searches in the Settings menu.
If you can't wait for the OTA update to reach your device, Sprint is also allowing its customers to manually download and install the update on their HTC One E8. The download link for the 1.8GB update file and the instructions on how to install it can be found in the source link below.
Sprint launched the HTC One E8 back in late August 2014 as a cheaper One M8 alternative. The phone shares most of the specs featured by HTC's flagship smartphone of 2014, but comes with a plastic build instead of that beautiful aluminum unibody.
