Sprint Galaxy Note 8 receives OTA patch with updates to Gallery, Calendar, Wi-Fi Calling, and more

A new OTA update has started rolling out for Samsung Galaxy Note 8 owners that purchased their device from Sprint. With a build number of N950USQU2BQJB and a size of 383MB, the new update brings quite a few changes.

First of all, Wi-Fi Calling has been renamed to Calling Plus and packs some new and improved features. In a nutshell, Calling Plus includes all the capabilities of Wi-Fi Calling and adds the ability to make and receive calls over Sprint’s LTE network.

There are also improvements to the Calendar, Gallery, Reminder, and Voice Recorder apps, but sadly, Sprint hasn't specified what the exact changes are in the patch notes. Lastly, an error related to the DeX docking station has been resolved, while the update should also include the Android security patch for the month of October.

The update is available OTA, but it might need some time to reach all compatible devices. You can check for it manually by going to Settings > About Device > Software Updates.

As always, make sure that your phone is sufficiently charged and connected to a Wi-Fi network before proceeding with a patch of this size.

1st I'm trying out the calling plus as I type this on phone at same time. Bout time sprint. My last phone the Note 3 was the last time I talked and surfed the web. JOB WELL DONE. It's in beta so there might be some issues but I haven't experienced any yet. Using my Magnificent Note 8.
