Sony Xperia miro is announced – petite and social
Well, that didn't take too long. Thanks to some 25,000 of the maker's Facebook fans, we now know what smartphone was behind the countdown timer that Sony put up online a couple of days ago. Meet the Sony Xperia miro – an entry-level Android device with a heavy accent on social networking and pretty colors.

Hardware specs include a single core 800MHz processor and a 3.5-inch HVGA (320x480) display. We also know that that the Sony Xperia miro comes with a 5-megapixel main camera capable of shooting video at 30 frames per second, and a front-facing cam for video chats. There is a loudspeaker on its back, and the TV out will allow users to hook up the handset to a TV. Underneath the display is located a notification light of some sort, which will likely light up in a different color, depending on whether you have a missed call, a new Facebook message, or your battery simply needs to be recharged. The 1,500mAh battery is rated for over 24 hours of continuous usage time, which is pretty impressive. Thankfully, you get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich running out of the box, with Sony's usual interface tweaks.

And that pretty much sums it all up. Expect seeing the Sony Xperia miro in stores globally in Q3 of 2012. Pricing remains a mystery for now, yet hopefully, we will get more details on the matter soon.
