Sony Ericsson Xperia X8 ships for $300 unlocked
Sony Ericsson's new Xperia X8 is shipping worldwide now, in all of its middle-of-the-road glory. The cheapest of Sony's Android phones, the X8's 3-inch LCD screen sits between the Xperia X10 and X10 mini.

The X8 runs Android 1.6, and is powered by a 600MHz CPU. The device is said to be updated to Android 2.1 after the X10 line has first been updated. As it is the budget member of the family, the camera is reduced to 3.2MP, compared with 8.1MP (X10) and 5MP (X10 mini). The battery also provides a relatively brief talk-time of only 4.75 hours.

While the specs of the Xperia X8 aren't terribly impressive, the form factor definitely compensates. As with all Sony Ericsson devices, it is very attractive, perhaps distracting from the aging version of Android.
