Can't sign in to Skype? Here's what to do

For over 7 hours now, Skype users around the world (including in the US and Canada) are having problems signing in to the application on their PCs and smartphones (Android and iOS).

Skype says it's looking into the issue, and hopes "to resolve it as soon as possible", but it can't say how long this will take. So what can you do if you need to connect to someone via Skype right now, but you can't login to the app? Well, you should try to login using the Web version of Skype, which can be found at https://web.skype.com.

Most people who can't connect to Skype via the smartphone and PC variants of the application should have no problems signing in from the Web. Skype for Web offers pretty much the same features you have on the dedicated Skype apps for mobile or PCs, so go ahead and try it (if you haven't done it already).
