Sky and The Walking Dead producer team up to launch mobile games based on its original dramas
Sky, the European pay-TV giant, has just announced a partnership with Skybound Entertainment, the company behind the “The Walking Dead” franchise, for the launch of mobile games based on the former's original dramas.
The first step is the creation of a new studio called Skybound Stories, which will use new and existing IPs to create “mobile narrative gaming experiences.” The studio will take advantage of Sky's forthcoming original products across Europe, such as Babylon Berlin, Britannia, and Gomorrah, but new IPs for standalone games could be created as well.
Gary Davey, Managing Director of Content at Sky thinks that the new partnership is meant to explore interactive story-telling created for mobile consumption.

I am very excited about this venture. This is comic books for the iPhone generation. Interactive story-telling, designed for mobile consumption is a fascinating new field for us. And it’s great to now explore it with the masters of the craft.
Sky hasn't offered any details about actual games that are already in the works, nor whether or not they will be available on both major mobile platforms – Android and iOS. If we are to guess, we'll probably hear more about Sky's new project in about a year from now, so don't wait for a Britannia mobile game just yet.
