Sequel to Oppo Neo 5 appears on Oppo's website
The Oppo Neo 5 is an entry-level handset that was unveiled last August with a 4.5-inch 480 x 854 resolution screen. While it hasn't been a year yet, Oppo's website has information about a sequel device, the Oppo Neo 5s. The follow-up model will feature a screen with the same size and resolution as the original model. That works out to a pixel density of 218ppi. A 64-bit Snapdragon 410 SoC is under the hood which includes a quad-core 1.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 306 GPU. 1GB of RAM is inside along with 8GB of native storage. Those who need more memory can access the 128GB capacity microSD slot.

The 8MP rear camera includes a number of features including Panoroma, scene detection, geo-tagging, smile shot, double exposure and HDR. A 2MP front-facing snapper handles selfies and video chats. The phone has dual SIM capabilities (one micro SIM and one nano SIM) with both slots supporting 4G. Screenshots are captured with a three-finger swipe down on the screen. The phone's body is made from a double-layer of metal with an inner-core that dissipates heat better. A 2000mAh non-removable battery keeps the lights on.

The Oppo Neo 5s comes with Android 4.4.2 pre-installed and Oppo's Color 2.0.1 skin runs on top. The phone is priced at the equivalent of $190 USD and features dimensions of 131.9mm x 65.5mm x 8mm. The phone weighs 135 grams and is available from Oppo's website in black or white.
