Amazon Fire HD 8 ($50) and Fire HD 10 ($100) on sale at Best Buy
Surely you were thinking the other day that you could use a Fire HD tablet with a forked Android OS. If you were, you can pick up the Amazon Fire HD 8 slab from Best Buy for just $49.99. That is a savings of $30 or 38% off of the regular price. This is not what you would call a high-end tablet these days as the 8-inch LCD display carries a 1280 x 800 resolution. Under the hood is a MediaTek MT8163 chipset featuring a quad-core 1.3GHz CPU. 1.5GB of RAM is inside along with 16GB of native storage. A 2MP camera adorns the back with a .3MP snapper in front for selfies and video chats.

The Amazon Fire HD 10 tablet is available from Best Buy for $99.99, a $50 or 33% savings from the usual price. The 10.1-inch LCD screen has a 1200 x 1920 resolution and is powered by the MediaTek 8173 chipset featuring a quad-core CPU running at 1.8GHz. 2GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. The camera combo from back to front weighs in at 2MP and .3MP, respectively.

Color options for both tablets are Black, Marine Blue, Punch Red and Canary Yellow. If interested, you can click on the sourcelinks bellow.

These need a refresh: long in the tooth and quite slow now.

These are the ones that were released in September of last year, how are they long in the tooth? I just used one today and they aren't too slow, not for something we paid $115 for and the kids love them. PA never added the 2017 version to their database, their links still go to the 2015 variant, he said the right specs in the article though.

Can you get rid of the nasty skin overlay and install regular android on it?

Bought two Fire7 devices and won't buy another Fire tablet until they stop putting in cameras left over from 10/yrs ago.
