Saturday only, Best Buy gives you a free Apple iPhone 5 with a trade-in of your Apple iPhone 4/4S
Ready to replace your Apple iPhone 4 or Apple iPhone 4S with an Apple iPhone 5? Check out Best Buy on Saturday. On that day only, the big box electronics retailer will give you $150 credit for trading in a working Apple iPhone 4 or Apple iPhone 4S, toward the purchase of an Apple iPhone 5. Essentially, after Best Buy's recent $50 price cut on all iPhone models, you will be getting the Apple iPhone 5 for free. To be eligible for the trade-in, you must have an upgrade burning a hole in your pocket for AT&T, Verizon or  Sprint, or be moving over to one of those three carriers. The deal is available in store only and the customer is responsible for taxes and activation.

It is a bit unusual to see Best Buy pushing iPhones out the door unless there is a new model ready to take the place of the older models on the store's shelves. So should we assume from Best Buy's behavior that a new Apple iPhone is coming sooner than we think? Nah, it is just that Apple's iconic smartphone has some tough competition this year with the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One. And down the road there is the loaded HTC T6 phablet, the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 and the other variants of the Android flagship model like the Samsung Galaxy S4 Active, Samsung Galaxy S4 Zoom and the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini.

Or you can sell it on Craigslist and get $175+ depending on the storage size.

Well if you want cash the within an hour, CL is the way to go. I've used CL to buy/sell things and always had no issues with safety. Just make sure you bring someone along with you.

The problem with eBay is all the nutty compulsive remorse buyers who use eBay's new Buyer's Protection to scam honest sellers; I won't risk selling on eBay now because of this. I will buy up to my waZoo (and then some) but, I won't sell! Oh, and I won't sell anything tech-related to women on CL; talk about giving a new meaning to a midol moment. OY VEY !!!!!

Mow this is a first, current model Apple products for cheap?! Are they starting to feel the pressure there in Cupertino? The One, S4, 925/928... Yeah, I think the iPhone looks old compared to this new crop devices, but it's still a great opportunity if that the phone you want. I'll forward this to my iPhone friends.

Can you think of any reason why a company that NEVER allows its current models to be discounted would allow this? Check comment 5...

Reading the article says that it's only Best Buy with this promotion. What does that tell you?

That maybe those other phones i listed are selling so much that the iPhone 5, it's getting over looked and probably collecting dust in Best Buy's warhouse.

2 weeks before WWDC and a probable iPhone 5S announcement. May not be that good of a deal.

I find it funny that iPhones are now starting to become part of "deals" including a "trade up deal" from At&t and now this. Companies/carriers/Apple must be starting to get worried about the iPhone not being relevant any more.

Surely you're thinking of another company? Apple is still selling millions and millions of smartphones. http://techcrunch.com/2013/05/14/android-nearly-75-of-all-smartphones-shipped-in-q1-samsung-tops-30-mobile-sales-overall-nearly-flat-says-gartner/

All you proved was that Apple is selling less and Samsung is selling more. Samsung sold almost double of what Apple sold in Q1 in 2013. The "iPhone bandwagon" is starting to roll down hill now.
