Samsung copies the Huawei P20 series' gradient coloring for the Galaxy A9 Star
The Huawei P20 series turns heads with the gradient coloring available for the phones. It turns heads so much that Samsung has decided to offer a similar finish for its Galaxy A9 Star premium mid-ranger. While the phone was already released earlier this year in black and white, consumers in China will soon be able to pick up the model with a pink and purple gradient finish on the back of the phone.

The Galaxy A9 Star features a 6.3-inch Super AMOLED display (1080 x 2220 resolution) and is powered by the Snapdragon 660 Mobile Platform. 4GB of RAM is inside along with 64GB of native storage, and a nice-sized 3700mAh battery keeps the lights on. A vertical dual camera setup adorns the back, and Android 8.1 Oreo is pre-installed. The device is priced at the equivalent of $470 USD.

Now while it's true that the Galaxy A9 Star can only be found in China, the same phone is available in other countries as the Galaxy A8 Star (without a gradient coloring option). Since we don't expect the Galaxy A9 Star to be offered in the U.S., we will have to wait and see if a gradient design becomes an option for a future Galaxy device offered in the states.

In the meantime, check out an ad for the phone aimed at Chinese consumers; you'll find it directly below.
