Samsung Showcase will be Cellular South's version of the Galaxy S
US Cellular customers are probably living it now that they know for sure that their version of the Samsung Galaxy S, the Mesmerize, will be making its way very shortly to them. However, it appears that Cellular South customers will be joining in on all of the festivities as well now that they're officially going to get the Samsung Showcase – yet another Galaxy S model.

On the hardware side, there isn't anything that separates it with the usual pack – it features a 4” Super AMOLED touchscreen, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, 5-megapixel camera with flash, 720p video recording, Swype keyboard, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 3.0, 3.5mm headset jack, DLNA support, GPS, microSD card slot, and Android 2.1. Luckily, this bad boy will receive its Froyo treatment very shortly so that customers can soon experience all the wonders it has in tow.

Although it's official, there is no specific time frame on when the device is expected to be launched, but it's stated to arrive “in time for the holidays.” Pricing wasn't mentioned as well, but it'd be difficult to see this one set at anything buy $199.99 with a contract.
