Android Oreo support and a few new features are coming to Samsung Music

Samsung's own music app has just been updated with support for Android Oreo and a host of other improvements as well, making the stock music player on the Galaxy S8, S8+, Note 8, and other Galaxies that much better.

Version 16.2.08.22 of the app weighs in at 26MB and aside from supporting the latest Android flavor, the music app now has an alphabetic scroll index present that allows for sorting by name, making finding different tracks and artists a much easier ordeal; it also now has shuffle playback, an edge light off option for devices that sport an edge display, and a ton of bug fixes.

This makes Samsung Music yet another addition to the host of Samsung apps that have already been updated with support for Android Oreo. As usual, the update is being catered by Sammy's Galaxy Apps store, which should push the update automatically to your device. If it doesn't, however, it wouldn't hurt to check out manually.

Funnily enough, there is no ETA for the Oreo update for the Galaxy S8 and S8+ yet.
