Samsung Mesmerize finally receives its dose of Gingerbread
Indeed a long time in the works, US Cellular’s Samsung Mesmerize is finally seeing the light of day with its Android 2.3 Gingerbread update being made available for download starting today.

In the past, we’ve seen the handset receiving its fair share of software updates consisting of bug fixes and enhancements, but this latest one is sure to knock the socks off some people since it brings forth all the wonderful things with Gingerbread. Some of the new features include the following:

  • Improved power management
  • User interface refinements
  • More control over applications
  • Improved text interface
  • One-touch word selection and copy/paste

Rather than making it an over-the-air update, you simply need to click the source link below to snatch the free download off of US Cellular’s web site. After installing in on your computer, you’ll soon be able to experience all of the update’s glory.

So when I get my Hercules, I can expect it to get ICS by late Summer 2012. If it even does(pending T-Mobile merger).

Well Verizon's main issue is that they want the phone to be perfect. If they would just let google and samsung handle it then they would have less people jumping ship. The only good thing coming out of a long overdue update is an update that isn't very buggy, it's usually pretty polished.
