Samsung launches 3 new Gear S3 watchfaces

Samsung today released three brand new, activity-focused watchfaces for its Gear S3 smartwatch: Samsung Outdoor, Samsung Travel, and Samsung Sport.

For all the adventurers out there, the Samsung Outdoor watchface features indicators for barometer, altimeter, weather, and sunrise/sunset times. You're also getting a dedicated night mode, and the ability to preset altitude and atmospheric figures (the screen will flash red when the preset figures are exceeded).

Next, made for business travelers and tourists, the Samsung Travel watchface includes customizable dual-time indications, quick access to exchange rates, plus My Journey indications - so you can easily keep track of distance traveled.

Last but not least, the Samsung Sport watchface features a stopwatch, speedometer, altimeter, heart rate monitor, and seamless access to My Journey. A built-in alert function is also available, making sure you don't exceed your preset activity level.

All three watchfaces have various color themes (up to six of them), and can be downloaded on your Gear S3 from the Samsung Gear App Store. To showcase its new watchfaces, Samsung partnered with famous people - adventurer Bear Grylls, travel photographers Murad and Natalia Osmann, and stunt biker Robbie Maddison - to create some pretty nice promo videos. You can watch these videos below (though you may have already seen the Bear Grylls one).

I can't wait to get my S8 Plus, and get my gear s3 paired with it. Having it paired to an iPhone, is like using whiskey to fuel a Corvette. Apple put wayyyy too many restrictions on the gear manager app.

I know right? To this day, my weather widget on the S3 won't show any data. I used the watch to bring me to the right screen to make sure I had the settings correct. Still doesn't work. At least Samsung tried. But Apple doesn't want to be out-shined with their garbage Watch. All the other functions like music and data tracking work perfect. I've factory reset my phone and watch an still the weather won't ever update.

I love my S2 Classic, almost lasts a week when I turn it off each night.
