Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro to be more expensive than last year's Gear Fit

Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro to be more expensive than last year's Gear Fit
Over one year after introducing the Gear Fit 2, Samsung is now getting ready to release a new Tizen-based smart band. Apparently called Gear Fit 2 Pro, the new wearable device might be announced on August 23, at the same time with the Galaxy Note 8 smartphone.

Earlier this month, we saw several renders showing the Gear Fit 2 Pro, while learning quite a few things about its features. Now, we also have details about its price. According to a leaked screenshot - seen below - the Gear Fit 2 Pro will cost $199.99 at a major US retailer. That's $20 over the launch price of the Gear Fit 2 from 2016 ($179.99).

To justify the higher price, the Samsung Gear Fit 2 Pro will come with a refreshed design, an improved wrist band, and enhanced water resistance (you should be able to use it while swimming and diving). Music playback and support for offline Spotify songs should also be among its new features.

Like its predecessor, the Gear Fit 2 Pro will work with Android and iOS phones, coming in Small and Large sizes. To be clear, this means small and large wrist bands, as the curved AMOLED screen will have the same (currently unknown) size regardless of model.

Do you think you'll be interested in buying this upcoming Samsung smart band?

I had the Gear Fit2, and loved it. The Gear S3 came out, smashed everything, and has been my daily watch driver since Nov 18th. I'd take a Gear S4 over the the Fit2 Pro, and won't be shelving my Gear S3 anytime soon. It's by far the best smart watch on the market. Nothing out can match it overall.

How do you like the gear s3 for weight training?

It's not bad at all. At least for me I've also used it as a golf gps and it was awesome

I don't use it for that at all. I do old school weight training, no tracking needed bro. I use it for my cardio (walking, jumping Jack's, running, etc). Never for weights.

darkjedii, does the gear s3 let you control apple music? does it let you load apple music playlists?

Nope, Apple doesn't allow that. At least not when I had it paired to my 7 Plus, that was 4 months ago.

thanks. I wish they did. I had the fit 2, had a classic gear s2, but had an apple watch series 2. I use apple music a ton and loved not having to have my phone when working out. I tried google music but when it ported my music they sounded like chipmunks. so I went back to Apple music.

This device sounds like a winner in my book. With the waterproofing to 5 atm for this device, I'll bet the Gear S4 will have the same rating.

I've gone swimming with my Fit 2 and haven't had any problems with it. The only issue I've had is with the strap wanting to come undone (both while swimming and just sitting at home watching tv).

If you don't count Fitbit, which crushes them.

And Xiaomi with their MiBands that crushes every competition ;) Not saying they are best, but it was not long time ago, that some numbers pointed out, that they are best selling trackers.

Poor teddy, deflecting as usual.

Yes, facts and truth would certainly deflect a puny intellect like yours.

Teddy logic; Apple is selling many more wearables than Samsung, so I'll bring up another brand to help soothe my pain.

If it's waterproof, that's not really a bad price. Been waiting for one to swim with, still tempted to get the Garmin VivoActive, but it's a pretty ugly looking thing...

Wait for the new one to come out. It looks like a pretty solid device... https://www.wareable.com/garmin/garmin-vivoactive-3-release-date-price-specs-9668
