Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 lands at Fort Lauderdale resort, tipping it not required
While some luxurious cruise companies prefer to have an iPad in every guest cabin, others prefer trusting a different brand. Over 100 rooms at The Atlantic Hotel Resort & Spa in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, are now equipped with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. And the slate's purpose is not only to let guests play a game of Angry Birds whenever they feel like it. Each of the tablets is running specialized hospitality software that allows quick and easy access to the hotel's wide range of services and amenities.

For example, if a guest would like to order room service or make a spa appointment, they will be able to do so straight from the tablet instead of having to call the front desk or the hotel's concierge. The tablets also provide access to the internet, local news, as well as to games and custom applications.

This actually isn't the first time when we hear about the Galaxy Tab 10.1 being offered as an amenity. First and business class passengers on select American Airlines flights can enjoy in-flight entertainment on a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Who knows, maybe one will be sitting on the table the next time you go on a vacation at a fancy resort.
