Rumor indicates HTC Maple to be announced at CTIA
It’s not too often we see HTC come out with a portrait QWERTY handset. Realizing that this form factor is not dead, the HTC Maple is rumored to be presented during CTIA Wireless 2009 in Las Vegas. We’ve seen similar devices using that design before such as the Excalibur from the Taiwan based company. It’ll be powered by the Windows Mobile Standard platform; but it’s unclear right now if it will have 3G connection. It also sports a 2-megapixel camera, 2.4” screen, and QWERTY keyboard. This is a departure from their more traditional touch screen phones; but it a welcomed sight to see. Hopefully more news will continue to come in as to which carrier will offer this device domestically. The event will be held from April1 to 3.
