Rogers and Telus customers to get HTC One (M8) Lollipop update OTA starting tomorrow
HTC originally promised HTC One (M8) owners that no later than 90 days after Google handed over the final version of the software, HTC would have Android 5.0 installed in all variants of its flagship model. Google turned over the goods on November 3rd which makes tomorrow the deadline for the update to take place. While some versions of the phone, like the Google Play edition model, have received the update, it looks like HTC will be late delivering it to U.S. carriers.
Earlier this evening, there was plenty of excitement as images posted on social media from multiple sources seemed to indicate that T-Mobile customers with the HTC flagship were getting 'Lollipopped.' But T-Mobile's own website shows the update missing the certification and completion stages. We know that John Legere tries to move mountains for his customers, but this would seem to be beyond even Batman. As it turned out, the images were from the Developer Edition of the phone, which has already been updated. False alarm.

However, there is indeed something exciting coming tomorrow for Canadian customers of Telus and Rogers. A tweet from HTC's VP of product management Mo Versi, reveals that those rocking the HTC One (M8) on either carrier will start to receive Android 5.0 on Tuesday. U.S. One (M8) owners should be feeling somewhat hopeful with Monday's news: a false alarm and a legit update starting tomorrow, just over the border.
