Renders give us an idea of what the Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ may look like
Based on various leaks such as one from the Samsung S Health app that show a new position for the camera and fingerprint scanner on the back of next year's flagship model, and a screen to body ratio that is expected to come close to 90%, a series of renders reveals what could be an accurate look at the Samsung Galaxy S9 and Samsung Galaxy S9+. This year's Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ had the fingerprint scanner right next to the camera lens. That created a problem when users blindly searching for the fingerprint scanner to unlock their phone, would smudge the camera lens accidentally.

For the 2018 model, Samsung has apparently placed the fingerprint scanner underneath the single lens of the Samsung Galaxy S9, and under the dual camera lenses that will be employed on the Galaxy S9+. The renders also show different colors for the back of both models including Midnight Black, Silver Titanium, Orchid Gray, Ocean Blue and Maple Gold.

Expected specs for the 2018 Samsung Galaxy S9 flagship include a 5.8-inch Super AMOLED screen. The phone will be powered by the Snapdragon 845 chipset in the U.S. and will feature 4GB and 6GB of RAM along with 64GB and 128GB of native storage. We could see the device introduced just before the 2018 MWC trade show in Barcelona, which opens on February 26th next year.

"underneath the single lens of the Samsung Galaxy S9, and under the dual camera lenses that will be employed on the Galaxy S9+" LMAO one guess as to who else has this exact same camera arrangement. Also wasn't everyone giving Apple crap for reusing the same design multiple times. Now that Samsung does it... It's "real innovation?" Let's see what happens when Samsung drops the headphone jack too LOLOLOL. That will be a great day here.

This is a render dude. Not even a leaked image from a legit source. Quit jocking Apple.

Alrite fair enough, lets hold out and see how 'different" the actual design is going to be. But honesty, pretty much everyone knows it's going to be 90 percent the same. I'll come by the comments when it's officially revealed and post the same thing and then we'll see the typical hypocrisy take shape. Until then friend. Later!

LOL oh really, and who gets to make the call on what good/bad design is? Only Samsung fans? Everyone else's personal views on design are invalid? LOL clown, ironic coming from someone who just left a comment like the one above.

So apple claims rights to camera placement/orientation, didint LG implement this year's ago with the G4. Also last year allot of images of s8 prototypes leaked including cameras with a dual lens vertical orientation.

Bankz, surprised you are still here considering all the times you have lied and been humiliated. You have no shame at all, do you?

I'm not even sure he fully understands what that even means. Regardless of what he is calling himself on here these days. He is still just an Apple fanboy who has no real valid opinions about anything not related to Apple.

1. Is, not are. 2. The alleged vertical dual camera set up is from all the bitching & moaning about the FPS placement, not to copy Apple. Apples' is on the side, Sammy's will most likely be in the middle. 3. Apples' only source of security for the X is Face ID. With Android you have multiple security options, not 1 with a backup. Nice try though.

Bankz! LOLOLOL dude I didn't even realise the vertical arrangement hahahaha wow man that's gotta hurt. How you been old friend! I've had to deal with the Samsung clowns all on my own. LOL it has reached such ridiculous heights they keep accusing me of being an apple fanboy because I love stock Android and the Pixel line and keep calling then out on their hypocrisy when Samsung does the exact same thing they insulted apple for! Hey what happened to Bobby "Noone makes money with Android" Buster LOLOLOL?

Apple has been using the same design for the forth year!!

Oh really so can you tell me when we can start making fun of Samsung for using the same design? Because people have been complaining about the same design on the iPhone for years. Not just this year. So by simple math Samsung are well into the "make fun of them for using the same design again" stage.

LMAO one guess as to who else has this exact same camera arrangement. Ya, Motorola Moto G4 Plus which almost 2yrs prior to.....

Don't think you understood the sarcasm buddy, The iPhone has a single lens setup on the smaller device and a dual setup on the larger plus size. Now Samsung's following suit. And you come along and mention the G4 Plus? Ok good job buddy

The aspect ratio is just too narrow for my tastes. I just wish Samsung made it/makes it a little bit wider. They keep this up and I'll be like one of those old fogies holding on to their iPhone 3 except it'll be an LG V20 in my case.

u didn't get the V30?

Posts: 1767; Member since: Nov 17, 2011

I'm really trying to hold out. The V20 is the last device of its kind so I kinda just want to keep it and have it as a backup phone and music player. I really love the V30 from the many times I kept talking myself out of getting it in the stores though. I think I'm gonna go Pixel 3 for my next phone as a compliment to all the manual controls I have with the V20 and guaranteed early access to updates.

Nice looking phones. Will be holding out for the note though.

Exactly...the Note is the true flagship these days, getting all the features before the S series. (iris scanner and dual cameras, to name some) The under-glass fingerprint scanner will probably be the *major* feature to come to the Note series, with the Note9...and implimented into the S 10/S 10 Plus in 2019.

Why don't they just put a Fp scanner between the two lens ! Way to go sammy ! Hope it's just a rumor . I have never used the fp on my S8+ becoz of that stupid design .

That would be even more problematic then the current S8 set up. At least this set up, the chances of accidentally touching the camera is lessened.
