Pokemon GO sees an influx of Grass-type Pokemon over the weekend

Niantic, the company behind the Pokemon GO smash hit, has just announced the debut of a major in-game event that will take place over this entire weekend. The game will see an influx of Grass-type Pokemon that players will be able to catch starting today.

Pokemon GO players will notice that a particular type of Pokemon will appear in the wild more frequently than usual. However, that won't last forever, so you'll have until May 8 to catch as many Grass-type Pokemon you can.

Among these Grass-type Pokemon that you'll frequently find this weekend, here is a couple that you might have already heard of: Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Oddish, Gloom, Vileplume, Paras, Parasect, Bellsprout, Weepinbell, Victreebel, Exeggcute, Exeggutor, Tangela, Chikorita, Bayleef, and Meganium.

Regardless of what device you're using to play Pokemon GO (Android, iOS), there's no need to update your game, as the “Worldwide Bloom” event will be triggered from the server side.
