Pebble Time and Pebble Time Round prices permanently slashed by $50

Earlier today, Pebble announced that its color e-ink smartwatches, the Pebble Time and the Pebble Time Round, have received $50 permanent price cuts.

With the discounts applied, the Pebble Time will set you back $149.99, while the slimmer Time Round is priced at $199.99.

A few days ago, we told you that the Pebble Time is offered at just $115 on Groupon. Just like other previous discounts on the two devices, however, Groupon is holding a time-limited deal and only has the square Pebble Time on sale.

If you've recently ordered either the Pebble Time or the Pebble Time Round, you might be a bit disappointed about missing out on these price cuts. If that's the case, you'll be glad to learn that the company is promising to refund the difference to those who've ordered the color e-ink wrist pieces on or after January 21. While the price cut on the Pebble Time can be fully attributed to the device's age, the $50 discount on the Time Round is a bit more surprising. The Time, Pebble's first color e-ink smartwatch, launched back in late May last year. The thinner Time Round, which adopts a slimmer form factor but makes some heavy battery life sacrifices, has been around since last November.
