Oppo R9s images surface and reveal a new slot-antenna design on the back
Just yesterday, specs for the Oppo R9s were leaked on AnTuTu's Weibo site. Oppo has already sent out invitations for an October 19th event during which the Oppo R9s will be unveiled. Oppo's website shows a countdown timer clicking down toward the unveiling of the phone. This morning, some more new images of the Oppo R9s have appeared, displaying its slot-antenna design system.

Oppo itself posted on its Weibo page today that the handset will sport this slot-antenna design, which can be clearly seen on the images that accompany this story. There are three thin slots that run horizontally under the rear camera, and just above the bottom of the back cover. With the slot-antenna design, handling the phone won't cause a problem with the signal. It also eliminates unsightly antenna lines that mar the look of some handsets.

Both back and front-facing cameras on the Oppo P9s weigh in at 16MP. With an aperture of f/1.7, users will be able to take quality photos even under low-light conditions. Both cameras are the first to employ Sony's new IMX398 sensor. Another great feature is Oppo's own Super VOOC rapid charger. This provides up to 10 hours of talk time after just 5-minutes of charging. It also will fill a 2500mAh battery in only 15-minutes.

The Oppo R9s is already available to be reserved at the phone's official web page. You can get there by clicking on the sourcelink. Unlike pre-orders, no money changes hands, and there is no obligation to buy the phone. The reservations simply allow the consumer to buy the device via a flash sale.

How is this not an iPhone 6?

Because of the new slot-antenna design. Want to see what the camera can do....and the charging, man...2500mAh in 15 minutes! That's got to be some ground breaking speed. I'm more worried about the battery though, after all the Note 7 exploding fiasco, I'm not too sure if the charging is done right at all.

Did you heard anything about vooc not being safe? I haven't seen somewhere something about OIS, only that the sensor has Dual-core focus SLR technology (like dual pixel, not in every pixel) and is co-developed by Oppo and Sony.

You never know what can happen! Everybody thought Note 7 was safe until it started breathing smoke.

It doesn't have ugly ass antennae bands, actually made them a part of the design. Apple didn't even try, black or bust.

Looks to be lacking only the fugly antenna lines, circular home button, non-4k capable camera, fast-charging incapable port, pointlessly-restricted OS, fruity logo and probably the overpriced price tag. Other than that, it's a little nicer looking iKnockoff...

Unfortunately some Oppo's do tend to look like iPhone's but that's it. If Krapple (iPhonearena won't allow that word with a C in front) had done their antenna lines like this it would be "innovative and groundbreaking" just like the antenna lines from the iPhone 6 series that they copied from HTC.

Sony made that design from years. Thats why i like XZ and X. Before them was Z series. Buy Sony and will understand the quality behind the brand, with longest update support from any other Android. But if you like iOS, it is not bad, you must stick to Apple. Everyone had choice.

Lol. It won't have super vooc take my word. Super Vooc won't be available till late 2017. Another year to go atleast if it actually comes to smartphone at all.
